Countdown To Daytona

For all the Earnhardt fans I am sure, But Jack the Rousch may have an answer for the plate race this year. I just can't tell you which driver will benefit this time. My hopes are Mark, but my money is on Kurt.

HMS will continue Their dominance at the plate events, look for Jimmie Johnson to win a plate race also,He can't be outdone, all of the time,by His boss. :beerbang: :growl:

Dale Jr. just might lose some of His plate race advantage with a new pit-crew also. :)

man i just can't wait until it the green flag drops!!!

Getting closer all the time. I just can't hardly waite.

39 days 16 hours and 32 min.

Dodge is gonna show a new side to plate racing. Ryan Newman is a sure shot if he don't get caught up in a traffic jam. :) I thought that Jack may have a weapon, but It looks like the advantage may be to Dodge.

I can't wait for the season to start... my football season is over, and that means NASCAR soon to come!! :D

Per todays test speeds, it looks like Gordons team has him ready for a run for the pole.

johnson would probably win the majority of races between he and his boss. if johnson would *************he would win alot more. look at daytona. he couldve easily won that night race with no problem but he whimped out.

Johnson is a smart guy and he is playing it just like he is suppose too . The alternative to running 2nd behind Jeff is taking a chance of wrecking him . Unlike Roush were the team mates wreck each other on a semi regular basis @ Hendricks puttin the pipe to Jeff is strictly forbidden . Jimmy is a direct product of corperate racing .You sell more razors if your percived as a nice guy .

I just read Jimmy Johnsons wedding annoucment in the Charoltte Obsever .Dude managed to work a plug for Lowes into his freekin wedding annoucement ...Too Much .

God forbid anything happen to him but will he put a couple of Lowes stickers on the side of his casket ?

If it's part of his contract. ;) :D

Sorry but i dont know what the person above me said .

Has anyone seen the entry list for the 500 yet . It was late coming out last year because of the car shortage thang but i cant seem to find it any where this year yet ?

Entries aren't due to NASCAR's competition department until 13 days prior to the event. NASCAR doesn't usually release a published entry list until the Monday or Tuesday prior. I wouldn't expect to see an entry list until Monday or Tuesday of next week.

That said, based on published reports of entries, I expect between 55 and 60 cars to try to qualify.

Do you really think there will be up to 60 cars ? When you go back 40th to 60th in the points Derrick Cope to Joe Ruttman, the competition level is pretty much F/Fs
The only non full time ride that I think will be a front runner is Boris Said .

I didn't say there would be 55 to 60 COMPETITIVE cars. Just based on what teams/ drivers have said, I expect 55 to 60 entries.

52 teams tested at Daytona. And I recall at least 1 team that didn't test at Daytona that said they will still attempt the race. So that's 53.

Based on team/ driver statements there are 46 full-time teams. I personally don't believe that all 46 will last very long, but 46 teams have stated that they will attempt the full schedule.

Add Kenny Wallace in the #00, Johnny Sauter in the #09, Martin Truex Jr in the #1, Mike Skinner in the #23, Kerry Earnhardt in the #33, Boris Said in the #36, Stanton Barrett in the #92. And that gets it up to 53 once again.

I'm betting at least a couple of unscheduled cars show up, but based on published data, the car count looks to be at 53.

Entry List Is Up With 57 Entries
