This might not be about racing, but it deals with the reporters talking to the drivers. What a crock! I mean, asking Brad Daugherty how the shootings at VT affects people in North Carolina. Please, please, please ESPN, get someone who is a real reporter in the position to ask questions. Does this idiot actually think that us Tarheels have a different feel than the rest of the country? Really, does anyone think that only people from Virginia weap for those killed and injured at VT?

I'm sick of the media using the terrible incident for fodder. There is a place for this and everyone knows where it is. If anyone finds someone who cares little about it, then report it, otherwise, know that it's on everyone's mind and we all care.

This is the first time I've heard DJ in the booth, and what a surprise. I always liked his father, but DJ is a ringer for the booth. I'm sure with this experience he will find a job when he hangs up his helmet. And the race hasn't even started yet and I already like him.

Okay, let's get the race underway. I've got to get up early tomorrow monring for work. Yeah, I could tape the race, but I wouldn't fall asleep knowing that a race is in progress.

So, let's go racing.......

It's not the same watching a race on tape. Besides you know when you go to work tomorrow, someone is going to walk up and tell you who won. Then who wants to watch when you know who wins?

I hardly watch a sunday race live. My GF would kick my A$$. I watch them all sunday night.

Na, she just likes to spend time outside in the summer...Remember we are in Wisconsin....every nice day counts sometimes...

You are right. DJ is doing a good job. Maybe he should hang up his helmet and go to work for ESPN full time.

You can call me buck, or you can call me buckaroo, or you can even call me CB, but you doesn't have to call me Bucky. We'll leave that for our Wisconsin friend. :D

Ok Buckaroo. If that's the way ya want it. :D

You know i used to confused your nick with Bucky's too.

And thanks for clarifying on the CB part. I didnt' want to call you that because i didn't know how'd you take it. :)

Only my online pals call me buck or buckaroo. The wife is the origin of that as she called me buckaroo and I called her Maynard. I don't take offense with anything that I'm called. I love the name Bucky and we named one of our dogs that as well. My nickname and Bucky Badgers have two totally different meanings and I cede the Bucky name to our Wisconsin beaver. :)

Okay, enough of that, back to the wreck fest. What was Ragan thinking?

Another reason why David Ragan is crap!!!!!

GET OFF THE FREAKING TRACK

I think Matt needs another name..

Target Man or Beat me when i'm leading. LOL i love it.

That's the way a normal person races when the car behind is faster. :)

Of course, IMHO, it's better to go home with a 2nd than leave the track early due to stupid driving.

NASCAR officials examining Montoya gesture
By JIM UTTER / The Charlotte Observer
AVONDALE, Ariz. - NASCAR officials are looking to the actions of driver Juan Pablo Montoya, who allegedly used an obscene gesture on a live TV broadcast of Thursday night's Busch Series practice session.

NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston confirmed on Friday night that NASCAR officials were reviewing the footage from Speed, which aired the practice session at Phoenix International Raceway.

Montoya, a former Formula One star in his first full season of NASCAR competition, could face monetary and points penalties in the Busch series if it is determined the gesture was viewed on a live TV broadcast.

Montoya, who has been shadowed by a camera crew for more than a month, apparently mistakenly thought one of the cameramen he is friends with was behind the camera, Chip Ganassi Racing officials said.

Really?
What's the fine for cussing in victory lane?

Short memories here I guess.
