County Trying To Stop Home Bible Studies

A local pastor and his wife claim they were interrogated by a San Diego County official, who then threatened them with escalating fines if they continued to hold bible studies in their home.

Unbelievable. Where is our right to assemble? Free Speech? Religion?

Are they claimimg tax exempt church status? Recieving donations? Creating parking and other problems in the neighborhood? (We had a Tupperware lady, idiots would park on my freakin' lawn!!!)

Zoning laws are there for a reason. Get a permit and problem solved but there's a lot of pertinent info missing in that story.

I can think of a number of HOA rules that would have violated when I lived in Houston.

Any kind of business was prohibited -- even garage sales. If people were parking on both sides of the street so as to impeded passage, the county would have been on you in a heartbeat.

According to Mrs. Sotomayor, the Bill of Rights only applies to Federal Government restrictions and States and Municipals (counties, townships, etc.) can put whatever limitations they wish on those rights.
