Sports Illustrated checked accidents from 2001 through last weekend to determine which drivers were the most crash-prone (and crash-free), based on a races-per-wreck ratio (minimum 60 races).

See I told you guys that the Bodines are not that bad as people make them out to be!!! Jerry has just had horrible luck thats why he is at the top of that list!! But you can't blame Jerry for puttign it all out on the line from the green flag!!

I think to get an average, Todd must first finish a race. Otherwise 1 to one isn't much of an average. hehe.
 
As in many things, there are two kinds of statistics, lies and damned lies!

As far as it goes the stats are interesting, however they may be misleading without some some proper context. Just looking at the numbers, I would wager that accident (or crash) involvement here is only measured in terms of DNF's attributed to accidents.

Obviously many accidents do not result in a DNF.

Just as obvious, many accidents which do are not the fault of the driver (tires do blow out)

No attempt at distuinquishing pure involvement in someone else's mess is noted.

Unfortunately compiling stats which would reflect all these and other factors is probably close to impossible. So it is interesting in that likely it is only measuring stick which can be provided.
