Despite recent pronouncements that such a deal would be unlikely, it now appears NASCAR Busch Series driver Bobby Hamilton Jr. will get an early start in his Nextel Cup ride with PPI Motorsports for next season.
Barring last minute disapproval from PPI's sponsor, Procter & Gamble, Hamilton Jr. should take over the driving duties for the No. 32 Chevrolets beginning this weekend at California Speedway, ThatsRacin.com has learned.

flip-flop

mmmm, that doesn't suprise me, can't do worse than Craven right now. Might as well make the change while the team is as low as it can go.

Yeah, besides Lil'Bobby can wreck'em just as good as Ricky. Or, at least he'll be able too once he gets some seat time...

Given the recent circumstances, my monthly bold prediction:

-Craven to the #31, RCR makes Jeff Burton his "top dog"

-McMurray in #42 next year, takes over for Rusty in the #2 in 06

-Kyle Busch and Terry Labonte swap NNC rides (Labonte part time)

-Andretti to #11 to keep seat warm for Yeley in 06

-Robby Gordon to trucks with major backing from Toyota, Busch to Cup program also

Really though, I was being serious about them. :)

All those make sense RobbyG. Blaney could also end up in the 11. I also think Truex may end up in the 1 car, especially if Andretti goes to the 11. I think Craven may be out of luck though, unfortunately I don't think there's any way he gets the 31. I predict that RCR concentrates its resources into a 2 team effort with spot starts in a 3rd car with Sauter (I think RCR is still pretty high on him). I also predict (hope) that Jimmy Spencer will get a sponsor as will Ashton Lewis in the Busch series. I wish someone would give Kenny Wallace a shot with a decent car (more than just a few races). I don't think that Hamilton Jr. will crack the top 20 next year. Shane Hmiel will get a ride somewhere other than truck.

I think R. Gordons driving style would be a perfect fit in the truck series. He would kick butt there. I'm not so sure he would be sucessful moving his Busch team to cup though unless he gets tons of help from one of the big dogs. I wouldn't rule him out of the 11 either.

I wonder if Nadeau will get any seat time anywhere next year?

Good stuff, predictions are always fun

I think Craven is a decent driver. Hamilton will probably wreck the 32 car before it blows up, one or the other happens with that team. It seems more like a mechanical problem with that car week in week out.

They all ahve to be decent drivers to get here, but when you are last in points, of all racers that have raced 24 races, doesn't qualify as decent nowadays. And the mechanical problems part of it. They should have made changes befor it got this bad.
