Craven out of the #32? hearing that driver Ricky Craven and the #32 PPI Motorsports team have parted ways. Not sure who will drive the car at New Hampshire, but hearing a future pairing for the team could include driver Bobby Hamilton Jr. and his Busch crew chief, Harold Holly. Johnny Benson could end up in the car a race or two, but is supposedly commited to PPI's 2nd car, the #96 Chevy which supposedly will run 10 races later this season.(7-13-2004)

funny, Ricky Craven stated in a nascar.com interview that "i'll be the driver of the 32 at least until 2006" or something like that...I was wondering who he was kidding (himself maybe?) I don't think it's all driver, I think the equipment is just junk...if I could get fantasy points for his engine blowing...I'd be the national freakin' champion because it happens a lOT

That comes as a real surprise to me.

Holly moving to Cup? He had a chance to do that with Jeff Green and RCR after their dominating year in Busch. ( if they looked at changing the points that year I could've sort of understood. LOL 600 something points to 2nd place) It seems to me that would've been a much sweeter deal and maybe Jeef Greens career might have been different, but Harold said he didn't want to go to Cup Series. If he does, I'll be surprised.

Well job security in the Cup series is a little more iffy than that in the Busch series..........at least for crew chiefs. Maybe Harrold has noticed that too. :)

Maybe Ricky got tired of driving crappy equipment.
Makes sense to me.

UPDATE: a PPI Motorsports spokesperson says.....NOT TRUE.(7-15-2004)

Craven Denies He's Been Fired
Newburgh's Ricky Craven denied a rumor Wednesday that he has been fired from his NASCAR Nextel Cup team. Craven said that he has not lost his ride in the Tide Chevrolet for the PPI Motorsports Team as rumored on the Jayski.com Web site. "There's no truth to it at all. I have no idea where it [the rumor of being fired] came from and how it got started," said Craven, who is spending time with his family in their vacation home on Moosehead Lake in Greenville during a rare off-week in the Nextel Cup schedule. Team owner Cal Wells III could not be reached for comment. It has been a dismal year for Craven and the PPI Motorsports team as they adjust to their third make of car in three years as well as new crew chief Dave Charpentier. Craven is driving a Chevy Monte Carlo after running a Pontiac last year and a Ford Taurus in 2002. Craven is 31st in points and is one of just four drivers without a top 10 finish this season.(Bangor Daily News)(7-15-04)
