I remember growing up no matter where I lived there was always a "crazy cat lady" in the neighborhood. She would have like 9 cats and would be a total cuckoo.

Gimmie a dog anyday, does anyone else have this lady in their neighborhood?

We have the crazy poodle lady in my neighborhood. She lives at the other end of the block. She has five of the little nasties. They yipe all the time. She walks them as a group and the leads always get tangled up. They all have matching coats and bows in their hair. This lady is a major wacko.

Geesh Paul, I was afraid you were talking about this Krazy Kat Lady:p

We did have both crazy a cat lady (PEWWWWW, the stench) and a crazy dog lady (German Shepherd breeder) and those adults jumped the fence and were MEAN!

I did too.............but mine was my Uncle Tony that lived in the catskill mountain (you figure) anyway...he had tons of cats.......and he would stand by the door at night (when we used to visit him on his farm) and he would call everyone of those cats by name......he also told the best ghost stories too.......he had no electricitry..an out house.......and a well.....think a couple of the cats fell in the well too......:(
but thats my story of the crazy cat woman...except it was a man:D :D :D

Well, I gotta tell you that in my work, I run into all kinds. While I've never been threatened by a cat, I still prefer dogs. Cats do show emotions like dogs do. There's nothing like walking up to a dog who is obviously tickled to see you. I've been known to stop and talk and play with dogs longer than I have with people. I've also had my share of problems with dogs. Here's a cut story. There used to be this homeless little terrier type dog on my route that would always try to sneak up behind me. He would wait until he was within about 10 feet before he would bark. I could never befriend the little guy, though I tried. His name was Bidget and was known all over that part of town. Since he wouldn't allow me to be his friend, I decided that every time I saw him, I'd chase him and try to spray him with my dog spray. In my pursuit, I sprayed myself more than I ever got him, but it was still fun for me, and I think the little mut enjoyed the chase himself. Anyway, one afternoon, I saw Bidget about three houses ahead of me. He hadn't seen me just yet, so I thought I had a good head start on him. I nearly got to him, but he reacted quick enough that I miss him. I still chased him back to where I left off on my route. Unknownst to me, a cop was parked on the street watching me all the time. When I finally came up to him later, he remarked to me...didn't you know we have a mailman leash law here? :) We had a good laugh. Since that time, animal control has finally captured Bidget and I was sorry to hear they had put him down. He was a pest and really needed to be put down, but I still missed him. Even bad dogs are good dogs for me. Well, there is a limit.

Where I used to work, their was a lady who at 3:00am (yep as "in the morning"...) everyday would get in her truck and go to three different areas in our district. I bet 30-50 cats knew exactly what time she showed up. She would get out of her truck with this huge bag of food and pour it out. Cats would run out of the woods like roaches under a light.

My brother had a neighbor who used to walk her cat on a leash every day. I would sit out there and watch her when I visited. She had a screw or two loose, no doubt.

I have nothing (much) against cats. But gimme a dog any day. Dog being defined as being large enough to at least reach my knees when standing on his back legs as an adult. Anything smaller is a barking rat, and is beneath cats on the food chain. :)

(sorry cat lovers :( ) :)

My fiancee would be the crazy cat lady if I let her. I had to put my foot down. No more cats. We have three. That is about two too many. Some might even say three. Now she is talking about these Main Coon Cats. I never heard of them, but I guess they get really big.

Well I ain't krazy, but I got two cats that take a walk around the block with me almost everyday. When I stop to talk with someone they'll just find 'em a spot and lay there bangin' their tails until I continue. They behave better than the dog, a black lab.

I'm not quite to the crazy cat lady stage, but I've come close a time or two. LOL

racerx, I love Maine Coon cats. They are named "Coon" because of the racoon-like stripes around their tails. They can get to be very big cats --- not fat, just big. I want two of them. LOL
