Hope this isn't a step backwards for the 38 team......

Wouldn't it be fun to return to the 'Glory Day's" of the 88 team? I'm not holding my breath though. I just don't believe that all of the problems with the 88 team are with the crew chief. I think RYR as a whole has fallen behind the other major shops. The joint effort with Rousch really did not benefit RYR at all. And Rousch would not be where they are today without RYR engines.

As for the 38 team, rumor has it that Tommy Baldwin is leaving Evernham and going to the 38 team. If that's the case then they will be awesome!!!! And I hope that's the case.

7 crew cheif changes since he won the WC, do you think it might be DJ that is the problem ? not a bash here just a ??, i really don't keep up with what is going on at RYR, don't care much for FORD's

Yes, I do feel that DJ is part of the problem. He is still racing the old way where you are conservative at the beginning of the race, save your stuff and adjust the car, then at the end come on real strong. The new racing style is mat it to the floor from beginning to end and drive off the rr wheel. This comes from a lot of the younger drivers being open wheel sprint car drivers.

I also believe that he lost a little after the death of Sr. Dales a family man and they mean the most to him so I think he is a little more cautious on the track.

I don't however believe that Dale is a has been and is ready to be put out to pasture. I believe he can still wheel a car with the best of them. What I believe the team needs most of all is to have cars that unload at the track and are ready to race. Only once this year have they had a good car in the first practice. Daytona. They almost have to rebuild the car at the track just to make it racable. That don't work!! He can't have a lot of confidence in his cars when this is going on.
