my opinion? I think sponsors like that should be allowed...alcohol companies are already allowed to sponsor cars and always have been, heck, tobacco companies sponsored and still sponsor cars and used to sponsor the entire organization. I wonder if the question is really a matter of how these products are considered...you know, it seems like beer and liquor are really in the same boat...of course a lot of people have that idea in their heads that "beer ain't drinkin'"; however, what bothers me the most is that 40 kinds of hell are being raised about this issue with NASCAR and it seems like no one pays any attention to other sponsors like Domino's Pizza (which makes people fat) coke and pepsi and mountain dew (which also make people fat and addicted to caffeine) viagra (which does the obvious) Sony (which probably is foreign in some way) subway (which claims to be healthy) Smirnoff Ice (which promotes alcoholism amongst women) Stacker 2 (which used to contain banned substances and promotes unhealthy weight loss) AOL (which produces loads of waste with their mailings) M&Ms (which are full of sugar) Betty Crocker ( don't get me started) the list goes on...basically, when you come right down to it, almost all of the sponsors are advertising some type of "vice"...if we have beer cars we might as well have liquor cars...I guess some people worry about their kids and all, but if they admire Dale Jr and thus think Bud is cool, then they might as well admire Carl Edwards and think Crown Royal is cool...and why not have Edwards become a Coke driver too, thus making the obvious cross sponsorship deal of Crown n Coke...in fact, I'm going to go have a "Carl Edwards Special" right now.
