Crown Royal signs on as Brickyard 400 title sponsor

So..... It looks like five more years @ the Brickyard starting 2012. Crown Royal signs on as Brickyard 400 title sponsor in a deal that is worth about $15 million over five years. Starting next year, the name of the Brickyard 400 will be changed to Crown Royal Presents "Your Hero Here" 400 at the Brickyard.

It's good to see that NASCAR is hard at work taking team sponsors away from the teams. This will dump $5 million into the track owners pocket, but very little of that will show up in purse money.

I prefer to see the glass as half full in a time when NASCAR along with other sporting venues are having an increasigly hard time attracting long term sponsor commitments. That said, I'm boycotting any RC product until the Nationwide race is returned to IRP.
