So far there a few surprises in the top 10 in speeds with McMurrary up top and Mears and Petty in there.
 
Practice speeds dont mean anything at the restrictor plate tracks because its all about how much in the draft you are. If you are not in the draft your speeds wont be high, if you are they will. Practice speeds dont mean anything at these type of tracks, just to let you guys know.

Ricky Rudd is now on the top of the chart at 184.763mph. They are 1 hour into practice and have an hour to go. Then its qualifiying tonight at 8pm on TNT and Trackpass on Nascar.com (which is free this weekend).

Practice for the Pepsi 400 is now over. David Green put up a fast lap during the last few minutes of practice to take over the top spot on the chart. All 5 Hendricks cars and all 3 DEI cars are in the Top 15. It looks like it might be a long night for the points leader Matt Kenseth. He was the slowest on the chart during practice.
