Thread title says it all. Given the new Cup structure and the crapshoot that is the 500. Which one do you want more for your driver? Go!

I'd rather Gordon win his 4th Daytona 500 and inch closer to 100, rather than winning this sham of a championship.

trevor bayne won the 500, now don't get me wrong I like trevor, but he isn't that accomplished of a racer. win a title and you are likely guaranteed sponsorship for the next 10 seasons. you tell me which one is more important.

Depends.

I'd like to see Tony win the 500 since he's won everything else at Daytona. It took Dale 20 years to win the damn thing. This will be Tony's 17th attempt. Besides, after all the **** he's been through, he deserves to win something... anything.

If I was a rookie like Larson or Dillion I'd rather win the championship. Nothing says "I belong here" like a Cup.

Cup. To me a cup means you won the championship and that's where its at

For my driver? The D500. He wont be around for the next 10 seasons :D

The championship even with the BS system.

It doesn't matter. MY driver has four of one and three of the other.

So you don't care if he sniffs another of either? I wouldn't know because my guy has neither.

I want the 500. Period. There are sporting events that when they don't go my way, I agonize at the length of time it will take to get another shot. The 500 is that for me. Each year, I don't get the ring, I spend the next day or so bumming about having to wait for another shot. I do not feel the same way about the Championship for some reason. Maybe that will change if I get the 500. Honestly, the anticipation is a part of the fun. I cannot ****** wait. Bring it!

Championship. Even with the new format, it's still a lot harder to win than the Daytona 500.

I don't think there is any debate necessary. The only reasonable answer is Cup Championship.

No one remembers Cope, do they?

Yeah, I'll go ahead and take the Cup.
I do....... I was there that day....... I saw Earnhardt slow going into turn 3 and knew it was... bye ... bye Dale again....... Cope won another race that year. The best thing of all that year was Buddy Parrot..... crew chiefing a car for Bob Whitcomb Racing. Buddy was considered an old washed up 'has been'.... Whitcomb..... a second rate organization. That 1 race revitalized Buddy's career ...... he went on after Bob Whitcomb to have several good years at Roush. Yeah..... I remember Derrick Cope. That was a race that revitalized a lot of folks careers...... To them....... it was like winning the lottery.......

I do. I was working in Spanaway, WA when he won it. It was huge. Banners over Pacific Avenue through town. Cope Brothers have a machine shop on Pac Ave. It was incredible, and to this day is as close as WA State will ever get to NASCAR crazy.
