Love this track and I'm glad that it's only a short distance from the homestead. I remember a few years ago, a relatively unknown driver showed up there with his own car, and with this track close to his home, and having raced there in late models, he came close to winning the pole. This driver was Stacy Compton. I was there during qualifying and after his run, you could see the TV and radio people running to catch up with him in the garage area. I guess Stacy will never make another go at it in the Cup series, but this did help him get a ride in the Melling #9 Ford for a time.

Congrats to Tony for his pole winning speed.
