1. Brad Keselowski: The hottest driver in the Sprint Cup Series is in control of the Wild Card race but don’t be surprised to see him inside the top 10 of the point standings before the end of the regular season. No reason to believe he won’t be a factor at Atlanta and Richmond before the Chase field is officially locked in.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 85.7
Point Standing: 11th
Last Week's Ranking: Fourth

2. Jeff Gordon: Crew chief Alan Gustafson took the blame for getting snookered on pit road with the timing loop manipulation that helped others get to the front of the field. Otherwise, Gordon could have easily been the guy in Victory Lane Saturday night for his third win of the season.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 96.6
Point Standing: Sixth
Last Week's Ranking: Third

3. Jimmie Johnson: Johnson may have been off the radar in the early summer months but he’s back in a big way of late with another solid performance at Bristol coming off a runner-up run the previous week at Michigan. Don’t look now but the 48 team is gathering momentum at exactly the right time of the schedule.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 99.1
Point Standing: Second
Last Week's Ranking: Second

4. Kyle Busch: The way Busch has owned Bristol, his 14th place finish Saturday night was actually shocking. Had to settle for only one win in his quest for another sweep of "Thunder Valley," but still in good shape on top of the point standings and heading to a pair of tracks to end the regular season where he’s been stellar.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 109.6
Point Standing: First
Last Week's Ranking: First

5. Matt Kenseth: Usually runs well at Bristol and did not disappoint again on Saturday night, leading a good portion of the race and staying in the front of the field to come home inside the top 10. The Ford contingent hopes to flex its muscle at Atlanta Sunday night and Kenseth should definitely be in the mix.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 95.5
Point Standing: Third
Last Week's Ranking: Sixth

6. Ryan Newman: Set the pace in qualifying to win the Bristol pole and backed the effort up with a nice race performance and a top-10 finish. Has a sneaky fast look going on right now that could bode well once the Chase kicks off.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 89.5
Point Standing: Seventh
Last Week's Ranking: Eighth

7. Carl Edwards: Still waiting to bust out after inking his Roush Fenway Racing contract extension. A decent night for Edwards in Bristol, but as others surge will have to pick up some momentum heading into the Chase to re-position himself as a championship contender.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 97.6
Point Standing: Fourth
Last Week's Ranking: Seventh

8. Martin Truex Jr.: Some nice chemistry is coming from the Michael Waltrip Racing No. 56 entry in recent weeks with new crew chief Chad Johnston starting to make his mark on the team, as his call for two tires late in the race at Bristol proved. Truex had a pair of top-five finishes this month and looks to carry that performance over into September starting Sunday at Atlanta.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 83.1
Point Standing: 17th
Last Week's Ranking: N/R

9. Kurt Busch: More struggles for the Double Deuce at Bristol, including a couple of pit road speeding violations that predictably frustrated Busch big time. Not heading in the right direction at all as the regular season winds down and Busch has fallen down the standings since late June.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 96.2
Point Standing: Eighth
Last Week's Ranking: Fifth

10. Denny Hamlin: Desperately needed a good night in Bristol after his disastrous day at Michigan and came home with a good finish, but it wasn’t easy. Rebounded from a tangle with Paul Menard to notch a seventh-place finish and Hamlin still has a grip on the second Wild Card spot because of that effort.

Season-to-Date Driver Rating: 91.0
Point Standing: 13th
Last Week's Ranking: N/R

Out This Week: Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick
Current Chase Wild Cards: Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin

I suggest you buy a cheap TV and put the nice one in the garage. :D

You're probably right. Mark needs to start drinking again and Kevin needs to tell NASCAR to **** off. I'd rather see him sit out a race for driving hard than continuing to drive like a little ***** because NASCAR hates him and has him on a leash. Stewart just needs to nail Danica Patrick and get it over with then start driving like a racecar driver again.

Actually, Mark's getting the screw job at Hendrick right now. If he was winning races in that 5 car, there's no way they could justify bringing Kasey Kahne, a driver who hasn't won **** in two years, on board to replace him.

I don't think Mark's lost it. This is a guy who's done great things in mediocre equipment.

The fact that Mark's being bent over so Kasey Kahne can continue a career of horrible inconsistency is infuriating -- I hope Kasey Kahne's career at Hendrick is a failure.

Really cause they signed Kasey when he was still winning, retire old man. Horrible onconsistency is caused by horrible owners not a championship caliber driver. I hope Mark Martin never wins again. Mark also hasn't won **** in 2 years

Kram Nitram has earned the right to drive as long as he wants to, IMO. He is such a great ambassador for NASCAR and can still be competitive.

He would be an excellent choice to join Stewart Haas as a part-time driver in the CUP Series for the races that Miss Thang does not run. He has already said that he wants a mentoring deal so this would be perfect.

Shakey Khane and HMS signed the deal a year ago with the knowledge that Mark would be in the #5 car for all of 2011 and that Shakey would take over in 2012. Why are you such a hater, KKF?

I'm only hating to match Andy's unnecessary hate, I know Mark's going to be in or the rest of the year, and have no problem with that. Besides bash my driver I bash yours:owquitit:

Please leave Teksab YesaK Enhak out of this. ;)

I think that's where Mark ends up, while racing part time for James Finch when Danica's in the races.

I don't think Mark is getting the "shaft", Mark had one really good year at Hendrick, and I say that is Marks last really "good" year in racing. I figured one of the reasons for signing Kahne is Mark wanting to go part time. Heck, Mark even said he helped them get kahne. Granted...I am not really sure why they want Kahne either, must be another one of those "merchandise" things Hendrick seems to love! lol

So you think Mark suddenly forgot how to drive in two months? Give me a break.

Hendrick tore his championship contending team apart and tore Jeff Gordon's team apart to help Junyer.

Junyer's the weak link at Hendrick, and they keep bringing the 5 and 24 down to help him improve. Gordon's found something and won a couple races -- you can bet there will be more offseason changes to help Junyer improve from 22nd to 20th.

:beerbang:Kahne Won alot with Evernham... It's On next year..:beerbang::beerbang::beerbang:

And he was horribly inconsistent there as well, just like he was in Nationwide.

Kahne had six wins in 2006 and, even then, he was never really a championship contender at any point during the season.

Man, I must have missed where I said that Mark forgot to drive in 2 months...

What I said was he had a one REALLY strong year since returning, last year before the team split he was not performing the way he was in 2009, so how exactly do you explain that win this theory?

I am a fan of Mark, but I think he got the best of what he had left out in 09...

However, Junior is the weak link at hendrick..everyone knows that.

Hendrick should give him the 48 cars and Knaus as CC. Then he would have ZERO excuses.

Of course JJ and CK will never split(nor should they) but if JR couldn't win in the 48 cars..........

Why does he need a excuse????They just signed that big contract apparenly both sides are happy with his performance.

Junior can drive for anyone he wants to for as long as he wants to and it has zero to do with performance....
