Cup RACE thread --- Daytona

Elliott laid down on pushing the 5. He gave him one bump and that was it. No bumper pushing. They just don't work together at all.

It really is sad. Preece left Buescher, but both those guys wanted and needed a win. Larson and Elliott, it didn’t really matter which one of them won. Either would have secured a Bowman playoff spot, but they still failed. I feel like our guys are legit the worst team when it comes to working together.

Let me be totally clear. I despise Toyota. It makes me physically ill to see Toyota on the bumper of that car. To me, the 43 that is on-track now is a fake. The real 43 ceased to exist when Petty relinquished his 5% stake in Petty/GMS, but tonight I am pi---- at Larson. He may well have cost Jones a win.

I think this entire points/playoffs thing is absurd when someone like SVG who was 24th in points and finishes 16th in the race all of a sudden because of his road course wins is now 6th in points. Icing on the cake would have been if Cole Custer could have pulled off the win to show how bizarre the system is.

They were inches from that happening...again. But I doubt you will hear anything from the NBC yokels or Nascar talking heads about that.

This is probably the first time in history that Bowman fans are cheering for Logano right now.
That is absolutely spot on. I know I was. I was even keeping track of the percentage of cars in the first 5 rows that could win and get Bowman in and how many could win and keep Bowman out. Let’s just say the percentage wasn’t in Bowman’s favor. I was already starting to plan other things to do for the rest of the year. But out of the blue came rocket Ryan to save the day. 😊

I wish I could convince myself this was true.
I’m just going off of what I see on a daily basis. I see complaints all the time about how manufactured, dangerous and formulaic plate racing is. The entire reason we still have plate racing is that it appeals to people who just wanna see wrecks.

With that said, when plate races aren’t marred by wrecks and Big Ones and when they’re able to make actual runs and maneuvers, it CAN be fun. So it’s a double edged sword.

Thing is, most NASCAR fans as you say hate this type of racing. The casuals are why it exists.
I’m far from casual and I friggin LOVE plate racing. For all of it. People can kid themselves all they want…they look when there is a wreck and look to blame who they don’t like and exonerate who they do. I’m sure everyone that claims they deftest the wrecks RUN from the room when they start…..🙄

They never miss a plate race either lol. First thing they say is I hope they don't have any wrecks lol.

Sometimes they even have an occasional green run to give a p*ss break between wrecks.
