Cup RACE thread --- Dover

Odd that Ty is so close to Austin in the standings. Not sure anyone would consider them good, but I think there could be a debate to be made about who the better Dillon brother is.

Denny was crowding all day. Of course its not illegal but on the last lap he should have expected someone to run him up the hill. Teammate or not the 19 missed his chance

Both of Denny’s teammates lost the race trying to be good teammates IMO.

A teammate who would wreck them for a win.
 
Man still can't believe that one got away from Chase. After he overcame the pit road miscue AND beat Denny out on what should have been the money stop and was pulling away it would have been in the bag if not for the oddity of the rain and multiple cautions and letting others pull strategy. They did not make the right calls. Oh well, still another solid day and that's the most speed I've seen Chase have in a while.

I still think Byron is going to be tough to hold off as he qualifies way better than Chase and starts up front and gets stage points more consistently. Yesterday was a perfect example. I don't think his car was even that good but he hung out in the top-5 all day and would still have the lead if not for getting caught up in that wreck.

They run really good for majority of the race until the end. I watch every week and they always seem to make the wrong decisions at the end of these races. That’s why the regular season championship will come down right to the end. Wouldn’t be suprised if Larson or Hamlin get it either. Really hope it’s either Chase or Byron for those extra points since they only have 1 win.

I think for Larson and Hamlin to get back in the conversation Chase and Byron will need a DNF.and and also not have to have one themselves. Chase is very overdue for a DNF so won't be shocking if he gets one. I'd say Byron has had his fill of them.
 
Crossing the bridge in person will give you a far better appreciation for how steep the straightaways and corners are here.
