Thanks Kelloggs!
I'm sure not a big Kenseth fan, but that's RACIN'.

Kahne with 5 wins this season. Martin and Burton goose egg. Kahne more top 5's and pretty even with top 10's. And, yet he may not get in.
Damn that Erin Crocker... ;)
She did look at ease on the pit box tho.

how many DNF's? I don't think martin has any and burton has 1 and by the way erin has sooooooooooooo much talent but i think it's not racing:D

I don't know if Martin finished either Talladega race. I believe he got wrecked in both.

he was 35thin spring race still runnin and kasey had a DNF and have'nt raced the fall race yet and mark finished 12th and 33rd in both daytona's and kasey finished 11th in the 500 and 25th in the pepsi 400 and kasey has had 2 DNF's and Mark 0

actually, I would like to see Kasey get in without bumping anyon else out. It would be nice if he tied one of the others for the tenth spot.

Do you think if Martin missed the Chase he may actually move on to Trucks or would he come back for the Chase next year? That could be interesting to think about...

The maximum number of points a driver can gain in a race is 136. Kevin Harvick is 147 points to the good and is locked in to the Chase for the Championship by taking the green flag at Richmond.

It's gonne be a toss-up between Stewart, Burton, Martin, Kahne and Hamlin. I'd like to see all those guys make it in and Junior fall out but that won't happen, Junior's historically strong at Richmond. It just irks me because he's the least productive driver in the Chase, just got lucky at the right times.

Check your statistics again. Your numbers are way off. Harvick must finish 39th or better to lock in a position in the chase. Assuming that Kahne collects all the points possible at Richmond.

Knowing Kevin's luck: He'll end up being swept up in an early accident and Kasey will dominate. It's just exactly what's happened in the past, Kevin can have a stellar season and have three ad races in a row leading up to the Chase.

Last two years he's been swept up in bizzare accidents in Bristol and been strong until the final run at California. Just like a year ago.

I was really hoping Kahne would falter a few positions so Kevin would be a lock but that just wouldn't happen.

It's 107 from Kevin in 3rd to 10th position Burton. He could easily lose that in a race. From Harvick back to Kahne, it's 147 points. Assuming Kevin finished 43rd and Kasey Kahne won, Kevin could still hang on IF one other Chase contender has problems or if four cars fall out. Who honestly expects every driver in the top 11 in points to have an incident-free night at Richmond.

It would be a surprise after Kevin's run at Richmond in May if he had problems but stranger things have happened.

Junyer's pretty safe also, unless something major happens he should be in, and he's had pretty good luck all season so I don't expect that to happen.

Stewart I think is the guy to watch. I think he'll be the Chase contender to be on the edge, he hasn't been strong in recent weeks.

I stole these numbers from an acquaintance of mine:

• Kevin Harvick will clinch a spot by finishing 39th or better.
• Jeff Gordon will clinch a spot by finishing 24th or better.
• Kyle Busch will clinch a spot by finishing 22nd or betterp.
• Dale Earnhardt Jr. will clinch a spot by finishing 16th or better.
• Denny Hamlin will clinch a spot by finishing 16th or better.
• Tony Stewart will clinch a spot by finishing 7th or better.
• Mark Martin will clinch a spot by finishing 4th or better.
• Jeff Burton will clinch a spot by finishing 3rd or better.

Kasey Kahne sits 30 points behind Jeff Burton

Yes, the two 43 place finishes in a row knocking him from 3rd to 11th in the standings were quite fortunate.
