Jamie makes the most of his equipments and fends off Bobby Labonte for his first win. This guy doesn't have a truck series win, he doesn't have a Busch series win, but now he's got a Cup win to add to his resume. Good Job.

So, the question is, should Busch drivers be allowed to come into the Cup series and dominate these Cup races? Seems a little bit unfair to the Cup regulars, if you ask me. :p

LOL Rpmallen. Great Race! I was very Surprised to see this happen in just his 2nd start of the season.

jamie showed great talent but I think if they had equal equipment bobby would have had him labonte went through the trafic better anyway good job by jamie :D

RPM,
Good observation, "Cup Whackers". It's got a right nice ring to it.

I like that rpm...........turn about's fair play!! Let the Busch guy whack the Cup guys for a change!!:ROFLMFAO:

Just unfrickin' believable. I am still in shock, maybe he won't be the surfer boy we take him to be. I'm still curious to see how he will do in the #42 but I definitely think he will be good now. This race was worth it, I had to make a long distance call for it, right RPM :p

Doesn't really matter who had the better equipment, McMurray made good use of his. Kept his head on his shoulders and didn't make any mistakes in the car.

And by the way, this kid still has at least 3 more races in this car...

Ciggie, he's still surfer-boy, he's just surfer-boy with a win now. That and we're going to be seeing a lot more of him! lol :)

Surf's up!

I wonder If he will do this well in the 42. Unfortuanatly I doubt that he will. The 40 has got the chemistry down, while the 42 has got nearly nothing. But we'll just have to wait and see.

mcmurray made great use of his I was just stateing I think bobby showed more driving skills in those last laps

They didn't show it but the anouncers said something about while you were watching tony in the pits were watching labonte and mcmurry go at it and jamie made a mistake with the laped trafic but still kept the lead

The boy raced good and had the equipment to back him up I just hope the next car they give him has the same backing or better as the #40 but I am sure they will after this if they werent before

I know it's not a stat a lot of us follow, but who is leading in owner points because if McMurray keeps it up, we could have an owner champion and a driver champion. Yes I know I'm going off the deep end (sorry RPM, needed the surf joke) but I'm curious.

Awesome_Bill,

I don't think the #42 team actually exists yet. The #42 that they were going to run at Talladega was actually the #92 team being used as a testing ground for McMurray. The #92 partnership fell out of the picture when Sterling got injured.

DE Wrangler 2 ,

We called McMurray Surfer-boy when he had that long hair and looked like he was a Calif Surfer. Now with his hair shorter, he actually looks almost normal. But he will always be surfer-boy in our hearts. :)

I think I do remember seeing the 42 in use at Sears Point or Watkins Glen when Jimmy Spencer was kicked from his ride. That may have just been a one race deal though...

Isn't Joplin, MO close to St. Louis so therefore the Mississippi River would be right there? I am sure that river produces some mean waves...

Well, I guess this answers the question, Jamie who? Way to go Jamie:calpping: :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug: :calpping:

Interesting point Ciggie......Chip standing next to Tony at the Waldorf next December!!:) That very well could happen!:)

Ciggie,

I don't think there's ever been a car owner championship winner and driver championship winner that weren't a part of the same team. Now that would be interesting.

What do I know, I'm stuck on a 28.8 for the weekend. If I was at school and had a T1, I would have looked it up before making such a post. I wasn't going to bring the computer to its knees now.

Awesome_Bill,

The #42 at Watkins Glen was just a back-up car for the #41. There is no actual #42 team built for McMurray yet, just a sponsor and a team owner.

Ciggie, DE Wrangler 2,

There's no real arguement here. I think we can all agree on him being a surfer-wannbe with that old haircut of his. River or no river, ocean or no ocean, he could always go buy a kiddy pool and surf in that. Well, stand. lol.
