I havent really watched any of the races this year besides today, Daytona, and Martinsville

My gosh D.W. is HORRIBLE

What was with all the Volcano talk today? he literally referenced volcanos about 10 times today

"The volcano is smoking!" "The volcano is about to burst!"
"The volcano is forming!"

He says the same damn thing every time. "I Dont know how these guys do it!!"

FOR Freaks sake D.W., you won over 80 something races and 3 titles. HOW DID YOU DO IT??!??!?!!?!

The openly rooting for drivers is really just disgusting. I cant stand it

Idk when his contract ends but if it's like this every race, my gosh

The volcano was smoking !!! ( smoke ... before the eruption and half a lap race to the finish)

The sad thing is he's become such a goofball now you almost forget how great of a driver he was. Top 15 all time maybe top 10

DW is fine with me. He's more tolerable than Jeff Gordon and the whole NBC crew.

BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY!!!!!! As if 3 boogity's weren't enough...he doubled it today. :bleh:

But I will say I have been pleasantly surprised with how well Gordon has been in the booth. And Mike Joy is awesome as always.

Personally I cant stand Mike Joy. Hes the repetitive mouthpiece for rules that everyone knows already. Its like he thinks new fans are watching every week & repeats the same on-track rules over n over. Plus hes made some serious goofs.

We need younger commentators, or just less in general. Mike, DW & Jeff talk over each other is enough to turn any casual fan away.

Now that Gordon is in the booth, any comment that DW makes is completely irrelevant in my opinion.

Maybe their hopes are tied to snagging Jr or Harvick to replace him. IDK.

As I have said before I do my best to remember DW as "Jaws" one of the best ever.

When you listen to old races being replayed the one thing most notible for me is the
pauses in coverage by the announcers. It was almost like "I don't have to explain it because your watching it." These days they treat everyone as if it is the first time they have seen a race. One guy says splitter and the other two jump in to tell you where it is on the car and what it does. I think many fans quit watching on TV because we are treated like imbeciles.

I'm a DW fan but I'm not a fan of DW in the booth. Like his driving career, he's stayed around a little to long.

I don't really want to see the guy out of a job. I'd much rather see him take a step down to do some pre-race type work. In-depth interviews and the like. Some kind of special segments leading up to the race. He's much better at some sort of scripted type segment than live behind the mic.

I know not many on here would probably even care to listen to it but his speech @ the National Prayer Breakfast in 2015 was one of his best moments.

I think he's a standup guy. It's just time to stand up and move along.

How can anyone hate the boogity boogity boogity? DW does a good job and brings a fun time the broadcast. Gordon on the other hand does not have a voice for broadcasting and his attempts at comedy are not funny. Fox does a great job though and I dread the races NBC does.

DW needs to quit the comedy routine and talk serious using his knowledge and ability to understand the drivers. Unfortunately, he has no 1st hand knowledge about the cars of today
and that is why he needs to step aside. When you listen to Gordon, Harvick, Brad and other drivers, they understand what today's drivers are feeling with their soft shoes and hands.

I couldn't possibly disagree more. The "boogity" nonsense is an annoying embarrassment. DW loves to hear himself talk and rarely says anything of value. He is always over the top excited and tries way too hard to be funny. Gordon's input is some of the best analysis you will ever get from a guy in the booth.

Last week the complaint was the zoomed in shots, seems like fox may have listened a little this week. But unfortunately people like rick Allen, joe buck, Chris collinsworth, Phil Simms, dw, etc. will have a job for life. It just seems like these networks never fire the talking heads, and once promoted to A team, it would take rioting in the streets before one is let go. I remember Phil Simms was receiving death threats a couple years ago from Denver fans, and cbs still sent the windbag to do their games.

It seems to me that DW shows up in the booth a few minutes before air time and is completely ill prepared for the race he is about to call. He is repetitive and seems to have a favorite word (s) for several of the races and he beats the death out of them. He is more of a distraction to the race broadcast then a help as he is understandably out of touch with what is transpiring.

I would either like to see a guy like Chris Rock, Ron White or Dennis Miller in the booth as even though they may not know anything about Nascar they would at least be funny. If that didn't work I would rotate a series of guest commentators in and out and they could be recently retired drivers like Carl Edwards or Tony Stewart or even Brian Scott for that matter as he would have a much better idea what was going on than DW.

My ultimate booth would feature Danica Patrick and every time she said, "um", "ah" or "you know" everyone would have to take a drink. It wouldn't matter how bad the race was as you be be so drunk so soon you wouldn't care.

Phil Simms got kicked off the #1 team and has been replaced by Tony Romo. Hopefully Phil will take the hint and retire.

Both Mike Joy and Adam Alexander made very good "home stretch" calls this weekend in Cup and Xfinity. I really don't care who else is with them in the booth, as long as they behave.

On the other hand, I'm not a fan when they are telling stories and you can see cars wrecking, yet they try to finish their stories...

Boogity is an embarrassment at this point, but honestly I don't mind Darrell and Jeff in the booth.
My only complaint comes because of my fandom.
As a Ryan Blaney fan it is hard to listen to the two of them continuously praise the golden boy(I like Chase too) and deride Blaney when he makes an aggressive move. Coming from Gordon(whom the doulble yellow line rule was invented for) it doesn't hold much water!
Just one fan's opinion.

Danica " and ummm kevin harvick just took the lead"

" ummif im Paul wolfe uhhhh id take 4 tires and fuel ummmm i just think that'll work uhh better than no tires"

"Ummmmmmm it looks like the 48 got into the uhhhhh 22 and spun him out. Ummmmm the spotter didnt uhhh clear him to uhh the extent that the 48 would ummmm feel comfortable"

The Boogity deal is like fingernails on a blackboard for me. Otherwise DW is OK with me. Sometimes I listen to what he is saying and other times I don't (he was quite excited yesterday).

It seems like the movie critics come out for the Fox and NBC coverage - I'm just glad we have coverage.
