You gonna watch?! The Kentucky Derby?! I watch and love the stick and ball sports like anyone else, and of course, racing as well. But when it comes to those sports that I don't follow on a regular basis, I still get sucked into the enormity and buzz of their "Super Bowls", so to speak.

I'm not a huge horse racing fan, but I watch the Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes every year. Not a big soccer fan, but I do get caught up in the World Cup rooting for the good 'ole USA. Don't watch PGA golf much, but there I am, glued to the Masters drama each time.

The Kentucky Derby. Today. Give it a look. It's reality tv at it's best.
 
VS and NBC.

I'll be at Old Dominion when I get off work otherwise I'd watch. The Kentucky Oaks was a good race last night even though I had St Johns River winning.
 
i watch the big events on tv but horse racing is one event you really want to be at the track for. the atmosphere at horse racetracks is unique. i use to go to hazel park racetrack in detroit quite a bit. have dinner and a few drinks in the club and if it's a good day come home with a few dollars to the good. of course more people leave money at the track than bring it home. i'll be watching the derby (minus the hoopla). :)

The Derby should be over just before game time.

Lot's of choices tonight. NASCAR, the Heat/Celtics game (great series so far), and the Pacquiao/Mosely fight (although I won't be watching this one. Give me Pacquiao/Mayweather or nothing at all).

I'm sure there are other sports going on tonight that I can't think of right now (NHL playoffs?).
 
Watching the actual race is kinda cool, I just can't stand the two hours of "coverage" that they do before the actual race.
 
Going for Pants on Fire. Just want to hear, "and down the stretch they come! It's Pants on Fire by two horse lengths! Pants on Fire, Pants on Fire ...", you get my drift.

The jockey for Pants on Fire is a woman. Should be interesting.
 
animal kingdom on a late surge. wasn't expecting him to win because it was his first race on dirt. wish i had a few bucks on him at 21-1 odds. <g>
 
Yeah there is a point about prerace coverage, people complain about it for Cup races but at least thats for a 4 hour race compared to the 2 minute one. I usually watch and did yesterday cause my dad grew up on a horse farm so I find it cool. Though it being finals week in school I hadn't paid much attention up until the race.
