Dale Earnhardt Jr. criticized Nascar fans who throw beer cans to vent their frustration after a race and suggested they switch to toilet paper. Fans of Earnhardt Jr. and his late father, seven-time Nascar champion Dale Earnhardt Sr., threw beer cans on the track after Jeff Gordon won the Subway Fresh Fit 500 to match the senior Earnhardt's 76 career wins. At a race at Talladega, Alabama, in 2004, fans of the younger Earnhardt bombarded the track with cans after Gordon beat their favorite under a late caution flag. ``I just don't feel comfortable with beer cans flying onto the racetrack,'' Earnhardt said. ``I'm out there in my race car. I don't feel comfortable with beer cans flying on the racetrack at any point in time.'' Some of the cans are still full when they're thrown and don't make it over the high fence surrounding the track, hitting people in the stands, Earnhardt said on the Nascar-organized call. ``Maybe get some toilet paper,'' he said. ``If you're unhappy with it, throw the toilet paper. It's hell to clean up but it won't hurt anybody.''
