I just wonder why they even bother taking "votes". It's obvious from the start who's gonna win by a landslide so why waste time with it? Just give it to JR every year until he retires.

I think a far more useful award would be "least" popular driver of the year. Give the Busch boys something to be proud of.

Say what you want but that's some strong fan dedication just like what Bill used to have. It's nothing more popularity contest as the award name professes. It has nothing to do with wins or driver ratings only fan dedication. Congrats to him and his loyal fans.

I think Jr is due a Big Congrats for this past season, 5 top fives 10 top tens increased his average finish from 16.8 career to 14.5 for 2011. 7th in points ( right behind his team mate JJ and ahead of JG and MM.)
