Dale Jr. wants big percentage of DEI

...My thought is, Teresa is smart enough to bring things up to snuff by hiring the right people...:

I have a sneaking suspicion that Teresa is leading DEI down the path of Petty Enterprizes. Shortcuts save money (which you can put in your own pocket), but end up putting your cars at the end of the field. DEI should have a world class engine production shop and be at the head of the field overall.

If Teresa turns DEI into a "memorial team" where 1/2 assed cars come in 37th all the time and Jr. goes elsewhere it will be a shame.

DEI should definitely be right there with Roush and Hendrick. No sponsor problems...not yet.

I do agree that Dale Jr. will not get controlling interest in DEI...it's a legal thing...and Teresa sure as heck isn't giving up that cash cow.

P.S. -DEI looks penny-wise an pound-foolish to me. I think that's what is bothering Jr.

If you really want to know why Lil'E isn't ready to assume ownership then go read his interview in the latest SI. The one with the NASCAR preview.
In his words he likes to take Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays off and just hang with his friends. He doesn't have a girlfriend because he doesn't want someone to tell him he can't go to his friends house and drink all night.
That doesn't sound like someone who is ready to run a multi-million dollar empire to me. How could he take care of business unless he changes?
This to me points out what Teresa was trying to tell him and everyone else when she said he had to make a decision on whether he wanted to be a driver or a personality. Look at any other driver, how many of the successful ones have Lil'Es outlook and time management.
It works for a driver with his talent (yech, that left a bad taste in my mouth) but not for an owner of a multicar team.

I agree. This is not the first time he has said things like this. He is really bad about not showing for autographs/leaving real early to go do "his thing." I hope he gets it all straighted out and does what is best for himself and the company. Sometimes the emotion has to be set aside.

I agree, too. He's not ready to "grow up" yet. I think Teresa knows him a lot better than the general public and his fans.
