Why does Jr. run the busch restrictor plate races? We all know DEI has alot of pride in their superspeedway programs but what is there to gain from a busch race anyways?

Well, maybe it could be as simple as making a reputation and maintaining that reputation. DEI has the reputation of winning on these restrictor plate races...and do you think he just does these races to instill that reputation of DEI dominance or is it just for 'fun' like he says?

I would be inclined to think that DEI might be running those Busch Restrictor Plate races in order to experiment with ideas, designs and possibly even some sort of magic tricks that would be of use to them in their Nextel Cup program.

But that's just what I would be inclined to think.

And in addition to what boB said, there just may be some contractural obligation too. Sponsors do get a little to say for their dollars.

Sponsors like to see their name splashed all over victory lane and a DEI car in victory lane at Daytona or 'Dega is almost as a sure of a bet as the NY Yankees in the World Series.
