I could understand a buck or 2 but 6 bucks...sheesh

We are separating unlimited DVDs by mail and unlimited streaming into two separate plans to better reflect the costs of each. Now our members have a choice: a streaming only plan, a DVD only plan, or both.

Your current $9.99 a month membership for unlimited streaming and unlimited DVDs will be split into 2 distinct plans:

Plan 1: Unlimited Streaming (no DVDs) for $7.99 a month
Plan 2: Unlimited DVDs, 1 out at-a-time (no streaming) for $7.99 a month

Your price for getting both of these plans will be $15.98 a month ($7.99 + $7.99). You don't need to do anything to continue your memberships for both unlimited streaming and unlimited DVDs.

These prices will start for charges on or after September 1, 2011.

I got that today too.I figured it was coming since Blockbuster isn't much of a factor anymore.I read earlier that Netflix will probably try to quit the DVD part and try to go totally streaming.

Might have to look into hulu plus or something..thinking of getting the roku

Most of those other places charge per movie.

The Netflix is convenient because it's a one time fee.

I doubt it's the most legal place, but I've found a lot of movies on www.stagevu.com. YouTube also has a lot of movies on it if you don't mind the clicking through parts and stuff.

We use the the crap out of Netflix, especially my wife. Plus with our two DVDs at a time, we always have something to fall back on if nothing's on TV. I'd think about going streaming only, but the selection, while getting better all the time, is still not that good.

I like it cause my kid uses the streaming on his PS3 at his moms house along with on the XBOX 360 and Wii here at my house and I use the dvd's..So even at $15.98 still a pretty good deal I think.

There is a Redbox or Blockbuster at most supermarkets around here. I don't watch very many movies so by the time it takes Netflix to deliver, I've already lost interest in the movie. With Redbox or Blockbuster Express I can have the DVD in my hand in ten minutes.

Hm, wonder if my wife got the same email. We have the 2 DVD at a time with unlimited streaming. I think we're paying 12.99 a month (maybe, she pays it).
My girlfriend is the same way. Mostly streams on the laptop/wii, but they get DVD's too.

Not to go off topic but how much longer do you think Blockbuster has? A lot of the stores are already closed but some are still open.

Netflix both ways for me. As much as I watch movies, its worth it. Redbox is okay, but when I want to watch a movie, I don't want to have to get into the car and drive to a store that has them (a couple a half mile away)

I always plan a Redbox trip if I'm going to the nearest Walmart or the supermarket, both outlets are nearby. I don't havea problem with them being a few weeks later in their releases, you can't beat the price.

I did Red box 2 weeks ago...I didn't know you had to return them the next day...ended up with a 9 dollar bill:rolleyes: Don't have to worry about that with netflix
