Dang I like that Kyle ?!?!?!?!

He has learned how to loose with grace and take it all with a smile,.......and if luck keeps improving, I don't know he may just do it. And I am thinking I just might like seeing that. :)

Just wait until the first race he gets outdriven by Kyle Larson in Nationwide. Usually, it's when he loses to some kid in inferior equipment in Nationwide or Trucks that lights the fuse for his annual implosion.

Pee Wee came into NASCAR quite young - probably too young. He was spoiled early on and his lack of maturity showed through all too often.

But there is no driver in NASCAR who can do the things he can do with a racecar. His ill-fated run with Hendrick is behind him and Coach Gibbs has stood beside him despite Kyle's sometimes contrary actions.

I have been a fan for a long time and if he had not suffered some ill-timed and unfortunate mechanical (and mental) issues, we could very easily be referring to him as a CUP Champion.

GO PEE WEE!!!

He is definitely showing more maturity so far this year and I hope he can keep his attitude in check for the whole season. It's a long season and we will just have to wait and see. I hope Kurt has turned the corner also and can keep his attitude in check. They both are awesome drivers and I would love to see them have a good season.

It's the same story every year. It's been a great year for Kyle so far so he's had no reason to enter a meltdown.

No reason? A blown motor in one race and spinning at Phoenix is a great year so far in only 5 races? Sure, he's rebounded nicely with 3 straight Top 5's, but we both know the Kyle of old would have thrown a fit after both of those first 2 races. Especially after the blown motor. Let's not pretend that we've seen no difference in Kyle, because you know thats BS.

Maybe this has a little something to do with Kyle's "new attitude"...

Man, the thing I see growing is Kyle's relationship with his wife, Samantha. Go back and look at his victory lane kiss with his wife in the Nationwide race. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Count me as one of those folks who initially doubted her intentions, but I see it different now.
Nothing makes a man more out of you than a good woman by your side.
Believe that.

Yeah and it's still early. Like I said, it's usually some kid in inferior equipment outdriving him in the minor league races that causes him to snivel. Maybe his season of mediocrity last year brought his ego in check a little bit.

I've always said it (maybe not here), but if Kyle Busch gets his stuff together, he'll be one of the best ever.

I hope the Texas incident and last season knocked his ego back down to size and he'll race with his head. But his meltdown after the Homestead Truck race where he whined about dirty driving (same thing he's done to others in minor league races countless times) and his meltdown after the Snowball Derby shows he is still more than capable of erupting at any given time. It might not happen though.... there's really nobody with enough talent in a good enough racecar to beat him in Nationwide.

This thread comes up about this time every single year (usually after he wins a couple races) about how Kyle Busch has matured and he's got his act together because of Samantha Busch or whatever and he's going to win the championship, 35+ races and go on to become the greatest driver in the history of NASCAR. I ain't buying it because he almost always has a meltdown mid-season.

...and Kyle was Genuinely Happy to have won!
I know that a lot of the fans in the stands on Saturday cheered for Kyle everytime he took the lead, and they really cheered when he sealed the deal. So he definitely had some happy fans.

Hence why I qualified my statement with "if Kyle Busch gets his stuff together"

I was one of them!
But there were maybe more who cheered every time Hornish led Pee Wee to the line!
It was GREAT RASSIN!!

I couldn't stand the kid when he started but his racing won me over. I always got a kick out of his defiant bow to booing fans when he won. I've noticed some cheers along with those who boo now. I think he has completed his media 101 classes. I noticed last year when he was mad he wouldn't say anything and would retreat to the hauler (probably a smart move).

Agreed. I always hated when people would see that as a "temper tantrum" or "going to the hauler crying". No, it's removing himself from a situation so he doesn't do/say something that he will regret in the future. That's called showing maturity, growing up, and learning from your past.

I like Kyle more and more as I watch him mature. However he still has to be himself, and a little of kyle is good for the sport IMO. It would really really BORING if they all were like 48 driver. Nothing against him but not much personality shows .

Every time fans get mad at Denny ,or Joey , or Kyle , or Kurt , or Edwards , or Brad , or Tony , etc I thank Nascar that there are personalities still in the sport.

You are sooo true! It's sorta like the Howard Cosell(sp) theory I have. I would watch monday night football sometimes just to hear what that guy said. Good or bad, like him or hate him.

not allowing the media goons to provoke him to say something when he had nothing good to say makes him a hero in my book. Nascar does require drivers in the top 5 to be present for interviews, so he had the option of not playing their game so he took the high road.

I have always said , the locker room should be for team only. In all sports. Get the reporters out!!!!
