Danica got stoned!

She got hit in the head while watching a dirt race. Hey, I did once too, where my coverage, huh?
I don't think the Bullring is dirt.
And yes, the bullring next to Vegas is dirt. World Of Outlaws sprints ran this week.

There must be two tracks there, the K&N Pro Series West ran at the Bullring at Las Vegas either last year or the year before.

I have been corrected. :dunce:

But I still got hit by a rock at a dirt track once, and want my story published. :D

I got hit in the face by a pretty big chunk of tire rubber at my first NASCAR race. This happened at Martinsville while I was in the first few rows. I loved it. I'd been watching NASCAR for years at that point, but I didn't realize how much I had been missing without the smells, sounds, and feel of watching it up close and personal. It was incredible.

Ah good old Martinsville! You forgot to mention the hot dogs....:)

I got covered in beer when I was a kid at that track. We were sitting on the front stretch and about halfway into the race someone sitting behind us decided to throw a bottle of beer at Dale Earnhardt's car. Guy had great aim because he managed to hit the hood of the car. I can't recall if he got kicked out or even caught.

Always wondered if that made it on to TV. It was a spring race in the mid-90s, don't recall what year. We used to go every year because it was blacked out on local TV back then.

We started sitting in turn 2 after that, costs a little more but you don't have to deal with stuff going over your head :p. Turn 3 and 4 look nice but I've never sat on that side of the track, honestly still a little pissed off that they tore down the old score board.

Back stretch has changed so much too....used to be the cheapest seats at the track. Concrete "step" seats like you see at small dirt tracks. I sat over there once and honestly hated it, but now that they've put proper seating there I kinda miss it.

That track really had an old school feel about it before they added all the extra seats. :)

They took out many of those backstretch seats and what they left, they covered. Here's a pic I took from my seat.

Yeah, those red hot dogs are something else. The first time I ever ate one, at my first face there, it tasted pretty damn good. But, about 100 miles or so into the drive home I was really rethinking that decision.

Every time I went, we ended up sitting in the same spot. We were about halfway between the start/finish line and turn one. We also never sat any higher up than about row 14. I know you can see more of the track from higher up, but I personally find the up-close experience much better. We always spent at least a few laps right at the railing. My son didn't share my opinion in his first and only race. Way too loud for him, but he was only about 10 years old or so at the time. I'm not sure how he would enjoy it now, but unfortunately I'm no longer physically able to walk and climb steps at that level anymore.
