Sega's still around? I thought that company went the way of the dinosaur after the Sega Dreamcast flop (which was a shame because I thought, as did many in the gaming world, that the Sega Dreamcast was superior to the Playstation 2).

It was, but Ken Kutaragi killed it with BS. This fact spawned the term 'Dreamcasted', which came to mean killing the competition based upon dream like claims of superiority. Peter Moore was CEO of Sega America when Dreamcast got Dreamcasted. He went on to head up Microsofts gaming division, fist for Xbox and then Xbox 360. He had a plack on his desk that said he wanted to cost Kutaragi's his job before he left Microsoft.

On April 26, 2007, it was announced that Kutaragi would retire and instead take up the role of Honorary Chairman. He had cost Sony billions of dollars with his hugely expensive PS3, which was being outsold by Xbox 360, forcing Sony to subsidise every PS3 at a cost of $240 per unit. On July 18, 2007, Peter Moore shocked MS by retiring to a less demanding job with EA.

You could write a book on Microsoft vs Sony, and the public barbs the CEO's threw at each other.

Dreamcast is actually an easy system to develop games for, it's still used by game developers. And I thought, for what it's worth, the graphics were better on Dreamcast than PS2.
