So, just about every Bristol race I ever saw, a driver has reacted to a crash in such a way as Danica did... but now that she does it, she's a crybaby?

Or is it that women aren't allowed to show emotion, amirite?

I, for one, applaud Danica. She's not out there to drive around, she's there to race.

NO Andy! She showed emotion and you know she isn't allowed to show emotion! There's no emotion in NASCAR!

As far as the two women getting all the talk (Danica and JJC), they weren't even the interesting ones.

In the late model race at Hickory Speedway on Saturday Night, Jessica Brunelli wrecked Candace Muzny.

What followed was: Muzny gets out of her car and marches to Jessica's car, helps Jess get her window net down and some, well, lively interaction followed.

Ah, video:

This could've been more interesting for the fans if Jess was able to get out of her car. Candace and Jess are both pretty good looking -- sure it would've been a YouTube viral if they went at it a little more.

She gets a bad rap because every time she makes a mistake she blames it on someone else. Kind of like Denny Hamlin.

I watched Danica's interview and that's not the correct answer.

She said she hadn't seen the video but it felt to her like (she got wrecked) but she can't make any conclusions.

Drivers get mad like that all the time. But it's different apparently because it's Danica.

That's it? Looked like they were swatting at flies:rolleyes:

No offense, Andy, but you sure are a character :D

Last year you were allover Patrick and the networks...this year you've done a 180 - please try to keep in mind that some of us haven't.

Thanks for keeping it entertaining at least.

I am telling you gals and guys, Andy was abducted by aliens. :D

most driver's bi*** and moan about crashes and it's usually the other guys fault. that's why i found ryan truex taking the blame for something he in no way was at fault of refreshing. i'm sure he'll outgrow his manners before long. <g>

Many thanks to Danica for giving us some water cooler talk.

Other than Kyle Busch surpassing 10,000 laps in his Nationwide career (something no other Nationwide, Busch, or Grand National driver has ever done) and sweeping the Bristol weekend, I'm not sure there would have been much more to talk about.

I like Danica and wish her success, but she's a little wet behind her NASCAR ears to be criticizing anyone else just yet.

She gets taken out of the race by another car and complains about it. How can anyone fault her for complaining about that? Heck, even Truex said it was his fault.

I don't blame her for being upset, although I wouldn't put the blame on Ryan. Looked like she was gonna hit him even if he had kept going perfectly straight. What I get tired of hearing (from all of them) is, they race me so hard. Well geez it's called racing for a reason. If you don't want to be raced hard, then get out of the race.

She was 2 laps down in 17th and she called that a good run....please. Then she *****es about him running hard. Go back to the go carts.

I honeslty think Truex Jr just pussied out and didn't want to start any war of words with her. It was a racing deal, nothing more or less.

I believe it was Treux Jrs crew chief who said it best over the radio, "shes never been wrong about anything in her life"

I still can't stand Danica and I've said it before it has nothing to do with her being a female it has to do with just her being her. I don't mind women in racing, I love to see Ashley Force win over in NHRA.

She has more racing experience than Ryan Truex.

Nothing against either driver, but every race I've seen Ryan Truex race in, he's wrecked somebody. If you wreck someone in 100% of the races you compete in, maybe you do need to adjust your driving style or expect payback. Look at the treatment Brad Keselowski's gotten from veteran drivers.

Danica went up, Truex came down and they met in the middle. It's called racing and it happens all the time.

My bad..... I thought we were all looking @ the Nationwide Series stats. :( I misunderstood.

Nope. KKfan and JustMe are comparing winning a championship in the fifth-tier K&N Pro Series to winning IndyCar races and contending for IndyCar championships.

Ryan Truex won't be around very long. The only reason he is around is because of family money and because his brother won a couple of Nationwide Series championships.

Just because some of you hate Danica doesn't mean anything to me. Danica's the better driver. Ryan Truex is racing a car that finishes in the top-ten consistently whenever anyone else races it. Danica's car, well, it performs better when she's driving it than when anyone else is in it. Scott Wimmer, Steve Arpin and others who drove that car never did anything productive in it.

I respectfully disagree with that. I know he hasn't done much but I think he will get better once he gets a full year or two under his belt in Nationwide. I'm not saying he will win a championship like his brother did but I don't think he will just fade away.

Danica Patrick won 1 race that didnt even feature a full field and has never been close to contending for an Indy Car championship. Hell, last year she was 4th on her own team in points IIRC. She is marketable(according to some), not talented.

The race she won featured the full IndyCar field (the guys who perform best on ovals) while the other race featured the ChampCar field (the guys who perform best on the road course). If there was a full field in Japan, those guys who weren't in that race would've been laps down -- the result would have been the same.

She has several top-five finishes, two second place finishes last year with an Andretti Autosport team that hasn't done a whole lot recently. She's also finished in the top-five in the Indianapolis 500 twice (a remarkable stat on its own), finished in the top-ten at Indy in all but one start there, and led several laps at Indianapolis, including laps lead in her first career Indy 500 start. She has six podium finishes in IndyCar... and in her stock car debut in the ARCA Racing Series, she finished 6th (much higher than any other open-wheel turned NASCAR driver finished in their ARCA debut).

Keep drinking that Haterade.

and won on fuel mileage.

And very very rarely does a K&N Pro Series championship result in success in other NASCAR leagues... KNPS only races on short tracks therefore the drivers do not get superspeedway experience. Guys like Ryan Truex completely skip the next step (getting superspeedway experience by running ARCA) because family money lands them a NASCAR ride... and they don't very often last too long in NASCAR.

The only champions in those divisions to have success in the last 15 years: Joey Logano, Brendan Gaughan and Kevin Harvick.

Of those three, Harvick's the only one to win a championship in any of the top-three divisions of stock car racing.

The K&N Pro Series is a good stepping stone, but I wouldn't go praising a driver to high heavens because they won a championship over there. Drivers contending for ARCA championships aren't finding success in NASCAR (exception Justin Allgaier and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.).

Sorry, I just don't think Ryan Truex is a quality driver -- and he made a huge mistake going right in to Nationwide. He's going from running 50-100 mile heat races to 300 mile races... it's a different animal.

If she's such a terrible driver, why don't the three of you go buy some racecars and race against her? Hell, I'll pay for the track rental... put it in the newspaper that Danica's racing at ODS and I'll get my money back ten-fold. Charge $50 for admission! :growl:

5th in points in 2009, a year (just like every other year) completely dominated by Penske and Ganaissi.

1st off, where was I comparing Indy to any Nascar series? He does have more wins in any Nascar series. I don't give 2 cents about Indy.
Also you might want to take the S off of winning IndyCar races, she's only won 1. :p :D

Winning a K&N Pro Series championship and winning races in that series mean a whole lot less than IndyCar wins and IndyCar championships.

K&N Pro Series is not a marquee series like the big three in NASCAR and IndyCar. Much like ARCA, USAR and UARA, nobody really gives a damn if you win a race or championship (and I like all four divisions mentioned above).
