Danica staying with Indycar

I wonder if she will thank Tony for helping her get the contract she wanted.

Darn, you beat me to it. I knew she was staying for at least a year but now for 3, I am estatic!!!:beerbang:

Isn't this old news?

It was announced a week or two ago that Danica would re-sign with AGR, but was going to do Nationwide races on IRL off-weeks.

3 years is a good number, because that's all IRL has left at this rate. Without a major boost in popularity or their pocketbook, the series is doomed I'm sad to say.

:(

I'm happy for her and the sport. All NASCAR needs is another mediocre driver with way too much popularity.

Well, there were a lot of rumors still floating. But yes, the deal was done at AGR for at least 1 year, this I knew but her signing for another 3 years was new. Im glad this happened.

She is improving every year and I look for even more race wins these next 3 years.

Your setting your sights incredibly high. She has one win in 80 starts, and is arguably, at best, the 3rd best driver in the Andretti-Green stable.

Is that why she's the highest AGR driver in the points?

It looks like Michael Waltrip and JR Motorsports are both highly interested in letting Danica race for thier team on a limited schedule in the Nationwide Series next year. This will be interesting on who she goes with.

I can see JR Motorsports since they have GoDaddy.com as a sponsor and they sponsor Danica already.

I believe she will go with Jr's team. It is a good fit for a number of reasons. Kelley will sign her. It will be intersting to see how she does in Nascar.

Isn't that the truth. She will take someones spot who can actually have a chance of competing. But I'm sure the owners like the money she will bring, possibly helping their other teams. She would fit good in the JR. camp. All the hype and no results.

We won't know that until she gets behing the wheel. How many teams put drivers behing the wheel that suck...too many. Why not give her a shot.

Where would we be if former open-wheelers like Tim Richmond and Tony Stewart were never given a chance? Even if she doesn't do well, she's still a marketing gold mine for sponsors.

Just how like Junior is for HMS. He might not run well, but he's probably pulling in more sponsor money than any of his teammates. And that helps everyone on the team.

When is everyone going to realize.....JR is not running well this year"....in past years he ran very well.

If Jr and Kelley want to give her a shot at Nascar, it is their money and business.. Heck, someone gave Johnny Sauter a chance, so why not Danica.

Hell, Penski gave David Stremme a chance, and he hit everything but the pace car.

:D
