Danica To Get Ryan Newman's Sprint Cup Team

Danica Patrick will get Ryan Newman's pit crew team for the 2013 Sprint Cup season. Not sure who Ryan will get for his crew chief.
 
Think if I was Ryan I'd be putting out feelers for my next ride.
 
Yeah, I feel for Ryan. Kind of bad taking his team away.
 
If these teams aren't changing, they are falling behind.
 
Ryan may be glad to be getting a new team considering how they've run this year.
 
Ryan barely hung on to the ride with SHR to begin with.

$ talks here. They have Go Daddy money and no $ for Ryan. No brainer as far as I can tell.
 
I don't think any crew can help speed up the learning curve. Danica needs another year or two in Nationwide.
Newman got screwed.
 
MMiler is correct, go for the bucks. If GoDaddy didn't have deep pockets she wouldn't have gotten Newmans crew. They want results and it looks like they're willing to pay for them. IMHO Newman was screwed but that's business.

They may want to use some of that money on a driver :D
 
Its a business move. She is absolutely not ready for cup or even nationwide, but as everyone has already stated, she brings in money and the sport needs it. It will be unfortunate to see her wreck good drivers next year, and I am somewhat looking forward to the drama which follows.
 
Danica doesn't need a fast crew, giving her track position up front would just get her run over. As typical her times were among the slowest on Sunday, and a faster crew will just be a wasted resource. For that matter her having a seat in a cup car is a waste. There are probably a 100 or more talented drivers who would have produced more with the same investment.
Boys that have driven their guts out who just do not have the sex Thang to leap frog them ahead of others and well beyond their actual driving skills, the whole thing Danica thing is a joke, propelled by all the politically correct butt kissers. People to afraid to admit that she ain't worth a damn in a cup car.

So just write her off after 7 Cup races? Seems sensible.
 
I've said it before and still stand by it. If you were a car owner and you didn't put her in one of your cars, you're a fool for an owner. She's a gold mine right now and they need to take advantage of it while it lasts because it won't last forever. Her results are secondary in the equation of having her on the team. She bring money to an organization and that's necessary to run the business. SHR will benefit from her being there.

I wish her well. I think she'll do better than a lot of drivers out there so I don't really see the problem. They can't all run up front.

They were saying on xm radio that she is ranked amoung the most recognizable names in the world . Marketingwise.
 
If Danica could even come close to matching the stellar Cup careers of Juan Montoya and Sam Hornish Jr. , it would be really impressive.

I don't know what the big deal is. Ryan is probably going to end up with Zippy. That can't be all bad.
 
Yeah I know she's good for business. But if cared about how much she was worth in dollars to Stewart' Hoss, how much $ Jr has made with her, or any body's else's portfolio I would be posting on some kind of investment thread.
I also realize she is a positive in the sense that she brings attention from many people who otherwise wouldn't consider nascar.

I just don't care to hear people overstating her actual driving skills. She isn't ready to run cup every week, she needs to run more at the lower levels first, and gain better driving mastery. Her end results are not the only problem, she hasn't been comfortable enough to demonstrate any of the aggression that is required, on the ovals she's just riding around.

The great ones don't need to be told to go, to be fast, it is there nature, and restraining them is the standard lesson plan toward skilled maturity.

Don't they always overstate the potential of the new drivers ? I mean Trevor Bayne , Joey Logano , Ricky Stenhouse , even Juan Pablo . Many people were expecting great things . Yes ,they are great drivers , but no , they aren't going to beat Jeff Gordon , Jimmy Johnson , etc . right out of the box . Sprint Cups the top level , only one winner per week , and the best of the best are in the top fifteen.
 
I am just waiting for GoDaddy to wake up and realize they are backing a turd. They give their sponsorship to someone who actually deserves it and the joke that is Danica Patrick will be gone from NASCAR. She has been nothing short of an embarrassing flop.

Why would GoDaddy care if she wins or comes in last? Their concern is publicity, not victories.
