I don't know how well she would do as a stock car driver, but she would bring a lot of sponsorship money and new fans to the sport.

Assuming she sticks around in NASCAR, and didn't quit after her first DNF like some open-wheelers have done.

He did that most of the summer and the media still comes around. I think if she does the same the media will still go crazy over her.

Why is winning in F1 on fuel strategy OK but a lame win in Indy car or NASCAR? A win is a win. Ask Mark Martin and the Biff about winning or running out of gas isn't a win. But since it's a female that's different.

I see this kind of comment all the time, and yet I still don't get it. When is Danica talking about NASCAR? Only when someone asks her about it! And the answer she gives is always some variation of "sure I'd like to try it"

The Danicamania isn't driving by Danica; it's driven by the NASCAR media who are desperate for a story.

Very true, but NASCAR itself is also driving this whole thing. They want so very much to have any minority in the seat of one of the cars. They have a couple of hispanics in Montoya and Almirola and would kill to get a black into the seat of a full ride as well as a woman.
 
I am SO OVER Danica coming to NASCAR that I coudn't care less! Never did like a tease! ;) It's not exactly any big surprise she's going to try. I think she's driving the next ARCA race and working herself into Nationwide cars.
(sorry if it's in the article above.. I just started typing w/o reading it.)

Something gives me the feelng she won't do so well. If Dario Fanchitti couldn't adjust, I just don't know how well she will. Oh well, at least she'll bring some of her fans and attention to NASCAR. So want to take bets on who she tries to tell off first? LOL

OH and what great timing by her PR person. All the racing shows have gone on hiatus until at least the end of Jan. Good timing.

What will be considered a success or failure for her? How is her success to be measured? Regardless of her on track performance, I think she'll still be successful in the eyes of many fans. She'll put butts in the seats for the Nationwide races that she runs. I imagine you're going to see Danica shirts being worn by many fans around the track. I don't think that her success will be measured by her finishes.

in all fairness dario never really had a fair shot at nascar. ganassi couldn't find sponsorship for him to keep him running. i thought he did well in the limited number of races he had. who knows what might have been with a couple of years to adjust. personalty i think he would have turned out just fine. much like jpm.
 
Can we all just promise now not to get her the Joey treatment as in judge her from her first few races. Give her time to adjust and all that then judge her.

I hope she does come over.

Anyway it falls she'll still be making history she's the 1st female driver that is running a full time schedule in Indy and racing in NASCAR during the same year. I hope she does well.
