Danica's future Godaddy adds to de-emphazize sexy elements; winning races now is priorty

I don't think winning will be a problem for Danica once she sees the tracks a few more times . But the company didn't say the part about winning , the sportswriter made that up .

For the record, I have absolutely no problem with Patrick what-so-ever (that's actually my first name) but she'll be lucky if she ever wins a cup event. If Earnhardt can't win a race in the best equipment and Jeff Gordon is struggling while Edwards may not even make the chase - what chance does she have?

Now as people's fingers hover over the h a t e r keys, what open wheel driver has ever set Nascar on fire? Tony Stewart - that's it!

The only hope she has is that her CC hits the right setup one of these days and everything goes her way for 400 miles. Good luck to her but I just don't see it happening.

So go ahead and just press those keys, h a t e r, without the spaces ;)

Typical hater response then tells us not to be a hater. LOL

Wasn't one of your first posts on this board about how much you dislike people? Now you call other people for hating...you're a real piece of work.

Too bad every thread isn't about you, huh?

I agree with you Patrick , there are very long odds on winning a cup race , given the quality of the competition . You just have to look at people like Juan Pablo , Junior , and Gordon to see how hard that is . I was thinking more of her winning a couple Nationwide races in the next few years . I think that she needs to do a lot more testing and measure herself telling the crew chief what the car is doing against the computor data . I really think that she could be a top five Nationwide driver in the future .

Tony Stewart has been the only real successful open wheel (Indy car) driver that switched to NASCAR. I think a lot of that it 1, He was a pretty diversed driver even back then and 2, he didn't spend a lot of time in one before the switch. (Plus he's just a damn good driver) I don't sed her in Victory Lane anytime soon, especially in Cup. I just don't see much progression with her.

Same here. I'm sure will be told it's our hateher vision but to hell with them and their rose colored glasses that see only the media hype.

From what I see it's mostly the HMS fanboys who are backing her. If she wins - fine. If she don't, who takes the blame?

It's nice to see that the boys back at Godaddy headquarters are realists.

"For most of its existence, the web hosting company GoDaddy.com has built an image apparently cultivated by love-starved 14-year-old boys — skin, sass and temptation"

That's one way to open an article, I guess.

He could've thrown the word "tissue" in there, however ;)

I'm sure we'll be told that just like if we don't like certain races we're not fans. Results is what counts. If this and it wasn't her fault is all good but in the end don't matter. If your aunt had balls she'd be your uncle. I'd like to see her do good, but there's a lot of improvement to be done.

I've always felt that Danica could have a decent chance of winning in the Nationwide Series.
I think that an entire season in CUP would expose her limitations.

But she is good for the sport at a time when the sport needs some goodness!

I didn't read the article, but I could tell by the title that the writer is full of ****. Has he/she ever even seen a Godaddy ad? Like the full version of the ads? There actually isn't a lot of sex appeal to them. If anything it is more comedic. Sure the try to make it seem like it is a sexy provocative ad, but if you go on line and watch the full version they do the ole bait and switch (sorry if I spoiled it for anyone).

Another thing. Danica doesn't need sex appeal to bring people to the track or to watch ESPN, FOX, and TNT. They are going to tune it to watch her, because well it is a semi successful female driver racing with the good ole boys. Women will cheer her on to beat the boys and young kids will look up to her. Honestly anyone that says they watch the races because she is sexy is a moron. Those fire suits aren't really too revealing if you ask me. What I am getting at is she will be a draw either way. Godaddy would be stupid to throw that away because she isn't winning. Do you think Dale Jr's sponsors are ready to jump ship because he isn't winning? I don't think so.

One thing I noticed yesterday about firesuits on women was that Jamie Little seems to have altered her suit design a bit to accomodate an on-board passenger!

Oh boy, did you just kill a sexy thread with a baby referance?

I'm pretty sure Jeff Gordon, Tim Richmond, A.J. Foyt, Mario Andretti all came from open wheel also. Steve Kinser came in and ran IROC one year and was VERY Impressive. I'm sure there's others but my brain is tired.

He was meaning Indy cars is the way I took it.

Horrible comparison, Stewart was a winner before starting his own team.

It is a fair comparison. When Stewart left Gibbs he was well established and was a two time cup champion yet many people said he would never win another race. Stewart has said Danica has the skill and drive to become competitive and yet people say she will never win a race. Danica is in her first year of full time racing and all things considered, she has done quite well.

Of course he's going to say that cause she drives for him.

Here's why it's not a fair comparison - Tony was a two time cup champ with tons of wins in nascar and he won a couple of races in IRL and a championship. A proven winner throughout his racing career. Danica was never any of those things in any series.

Starting in kart racing, she later raced Formula Ford in England before moving back to the US and moving up to IndyCars. Patrick was named the Rookie of the Year for both the 2005 Indianapolis 500 and the 2005 IndyCar Series season. With her win in the 2008 Indy Japan 300, Patrick became the first woman to win an Indy car race. She placed 3rd in the 2009 Indianapolis 500, which was both a personal best for her at the track, and the highest finish by a woman in the event's history. Patrick holds the IRL record for most consecutive races running at the finish. As of October 2, 2011, she has completed 50 consecutive races in the running (the next highest total in the record book is 32).[1] During her time in IndyCar, Patrick drove for Rahal Letterman Racing from 2005–2006, and Andretti Autosport from 2007-2011

I agree she is no Tony Stewart, but she has done quite well in my eyes. Given the chance to learn the cars and tracks, I think she will do just fine.

I'll never agree with anyone on this subject so we can just agree to disagree. I've always thought she was horribly overrated and that will never change. I think the world has a better chance of ending in December then she has at proving me wrong.

Agreed. :D

However, her succeeding in the sport I love would be a shot in the arm for NASCAR. Face it, we need Jr and Danica to do well and vanilla to not do so well, for a while.

We'd better hope that 2 or 3 drivers can keep Nascar alive as the oversaturation of a handful of drivers has already driven fans away.

As for Stewart's move from JGR, many said he was a fool and may not ever win again but you can't hold a driver like Stewart down.

According to the experts at NBC Sports Network, Danica Patrick is the most overrated football player.

Yes, that actually happened.
