NNS debut with JGR. Good for him.

Nascar has been dreaming of a young Mexican driver they can push for years now. He's only 22. He's had some good success in the K&N series and a lot of success in Nascar Mexico
I've watched some of his interviews. He's bilingual, but he does need to work on his English.

Nascar is determined to find a bilingual Mexican driver that can help grow Nascar throughout Latin America, Suarez has a decent chance of being that guy. Young, fast, bilingual.

Maybe my neighbors will start watching.......

Seriously though the kid does seem legit. Richmond is a great track to debut.

Personally, I don't care where he's from but if he can drive, put him behind the wheel and turn him loose.

Neither do I. But Nascar does. And Nascar is probably right. The NBA made huge inroads into China when they had Yao Ming. UFC always tries to sell itself with local fighters in different countries. They use Brazilians to market in Brazil, and Canadians in Canada, Irish in Ireland, Russians in Russia, etc, etc. Human beings are parochial and tribal, a young Mexican driver competing at a high level in Nascar would probably help grow the sport, both in America and in Mexico.

Mexico is Nascar's #1 target for expansion and growth. They've put a lot of effort into Nascar Mexico, and it's been a real bright spot in recent years.

Cool to see. This kid is the real deal and I'll be pulling for him

I don't know anything about him, but if Gibbs is willing to give him a shot I'm sure he's got talent

Surprised nobody here has compared him to the likes of Chase Elliot, Kyle Larson or Austin/Ty Dillon yet.

The ruling class of Mexico, like most of Latin America, tends to be basically pure blood Spaniards.
College buddy of mine was blue-eyed and blonde-haired, but his name was Rodrigo so he qualified for Affirmative Action. Got a full scholarship for being an oppressed minority. His family was uber-rich, too. But not stupid enough to turn down free money. I learned all this when he let half the freshman dorm come stay at his family's summer home on the beach for the weekend. Those people were loaded.

Kinda weird that rich Conquistador-Americans like my friend get government handouts for being "oppressed", but that's modern America, for ya -- where full blood Spaniards count as "hispanic" and get Affirmative Action, but my swarthy Italian relatives count as white and don't get jack, except for lectures at school about "white privilege". Odd world.

Lets wait till he races against them and then compare, I expect he will do pretty well though.

It certainly is odd

Hopefully JGR begins to shift some emphasis from the owners' championship towards driver development. They did a terrible job with Logano, Ryan Truex, and so far Drew Herring and Bubba Wallace Jr.

Bubba does well for KBM, Truex and Herring may not be able to be developed. This Suarez kid may be worth working with though
