Danny O`Quinn, Jr. To Drive a Roush Fenway Racing Busch Series Entry in Talladega
CONCORD, N.C. (April 25, 2007) - Danny O'Quinn, Jr. will make his first start in a Roush Fenway Busch Series race this Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway. O'Quinn will be behind the wheel of the No. 17 Dish Network Ford Fusion, reuniting him with his 2006 crew chief Drew Blickensderfer. Blickensderfer led O'Quinn through the 2006 season and helped him earn Rookie of the Year honors.
O'Quinn will also run the No. 17 Dish Network Ford Fusion in the Kentucky Busch race on June 16th. He will make his final run for Roush Fenway Racing in the No. 26 Dish Network Ford Fusion in New Hampshire on June 30th.
"I am really happy to be getting back in a Roush Fenway Racing car at Talladega this weekend," said Danny O'Quinn, Jr. "This No. 17 team has been on it this year. Drew Blickensderfer was my crew chief last year, so we are familiar with each other and I think that will help us considerably. We ran well at the superspeedway races last year, and I think we can pick up where we left off when we get on track this weekend."
Crew chief Drew Blickensderfer is ready to be paired back up with O'Quinn at Talladega
"Last year was my first year as a crew chief and Danny's first year running in the Busch Series," said Blickensderfer. "It was a successful year; we were able to earn Rookie of the Year honors for Danny. It will be fun to be paired back up with him this weekend at Talladega. We had a great qualifying effort a year ago there, but didn't quite get the finish we were looking for. We are bringing the same car that Matt (Kenseth) ran really well with at Daytona so hopefully we can get a similar result this weekend with Danny."
