Darlington losing race on Labor Day weekend

What I don't understand is why NASCAR didn't just give California Rockinghams November date and leave Darlington's Labor Day Southern 500 alone.

I don't get why they are not moving the February date from Rockingham? That is the one that is always weather plagued.

Why does Nascar do alot of the things that it does? The California race is usually boring as hell. That seems to be what Nascar wants anyway.

The reason NASCAR didn't give California the November date is because then the teams would be going from Phoenix cross-country back to the shop and then cross-country again to California. By NASCAR having Darlington in November the teams will not have to go cross-country for two weeks in a row. I actually think this was a smart move for once on NASCARs part. Atleast NASCAR didn't take away a race from Darlington.
