Love that show with Dave, I try to watch it every Friday night.

Here is Dave's latest rant:

My Take - Dave Despain - March 31

While old farts fire off snail-mail to bald headed fossils like me, complaining that NASCAR banned the Superbirds and the cars aren't stock any more, Fox is serving up rock 'n roll Winston Cup coverage to the largest audience in American racing history. Listen closely... that may be the sound of the world passing you by.

Follow me, here....Years ago in the motorcycle business, we worried that a whole generation of kids, who grew up with a computer mouse rather than a wrench in their hands, might not get excited about a mechanical
activity like motorcycling.

Yet today, Teen People magazine lists supercross hero "Bubba" Stewart as one of 20 teens who will change the world, and I'm reading statistics that say dirt bikes for kids are the second-best selling category of motorcycles. I say "Hooray!" The next generation of enthusiasts is already out there, going fast, falling down, having fun and getting hooked on the two-wheeled lifestyle.

On four-wheels, I love this whole concept of sport compact drag racing and hot-rodding entry level cars... and never mind that they don't call it hot-rodding any more, or that speaker power matters as much as horsepower.
The point is, kids caring about cars, young people interested in
performance. That inevitably leads to racing, the highest-performance motorized activity of them all.

So I say bring on those goofy lids turned backwards, crank up that annoying music, flash me those pierced and tattooed body parts, and let me check out your wheels. On and off the track, the next generation of enthusiasts is elbowing under the old guard, rootin' 'em up off the groove and getting' 'em out of the way...to which I say "If it's too loud, we're too old!"

That's my take, I'd like to hear yours. Call 1-866-W-TUNNEL Friday nights or send us an email via the link right here at speedtv.com.
