Marcis Racing to make 2003 debut at NHIS: #71-Marcis Racing just launched a brand new web site at www.marcisracing.com [same address as the old site]. The site contains news, pictures, stats, FAQs, and souvenirs, and it also has a section called "Dave's Stories". This section will be updated periodically with racing stories of his career, as told from Dave Marcis. Marcis Racing will be fielding a car at New Hampshire this weekend with 2000 ASA champ Tim Sauter driving. It's a brand new car, and the engine is coming from Richard Childress Racing.(PR)(7-17-2003)

It's good to see one of Nascar's nicest and hardest working guys returning to the track. I hope he can make the race and get a good sponsorship deal going to let him run the rest of the season. With a RCR engine they have a good shot to make the field and Tim's a good driver. Hopefully this race will help Tim get a full-time Busch deal going.

I agree gollum it is good to see the #71 out there again

We had a member on the forum at one time that went as 71fan. Would be a good time for him to come back and start posting again.

I thought of that too! :)

It will be awesome to see the #71 back on the racetrack. I would like to see Real Tree Camo on it to. Dave is one of the greats. :bounce: :bounce:

I thought about 71Fan too when I saw this.

Good to see the old # 71 back in action....particularly with Tim Sauter driving.

I've been wondering what happened to Marcis Racing. I have seen his busch car in a few races this year, but I had feared that maybe that was it for his Cup team. Hopefuly Tim Sauter can get the car in the field.

I thoughth about postign somethign like this when i saw the 71 on the entry list! I was wondering if there would be any mention of it from any media! Its and RCR car who whould have thunk! ( that was sarcasim)

Of course theres no mentioning from the media

In Dave Marcis's 20 something starts in 2001, he completed at least 4 laps.

Last year, in their 5 something starts, Dave Marcis Racing completed at least 3 laps

However, I hope they can complete at least 5 laps breaking the 2001 record.

No, I think Dave Marcis Racing ran more races than that last year

Dave Marcis only ran the Daytona 500, but they ran/attempted to qualify at quite a few other races, with Dick Trickle and Jay and Tim Sauter, until sponsorship trouble late in the year kept them from being able to continue.

I would assume with qualifying rained out...Ol' Wing Tips team didn't make the show...too bad. :(
