One of NASCARs all time greats. He'll be back on the same dirt track that started his racing career. Racing in the same car he ran so many years ago. David and many other Racing greats will be part of the fund raising kickoff for the Motor Racing Museum of the South in Spartanburg, SC. The race will take place at the old Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds in Spartanburg on Sept.28.

Aw man this is too cool. Pearson was my first favorite driver. It would be great to see him race again.
 
He was one of my first favorites too, he and Bobby Isaac. Good for the Silver Fox. Wish I could be there to see it.
 
True, but all my $$ is on reserve now. Trying to buy that little cabin home on the hill.
 
Darn shame. I remember when we used to cash in soda bottles so we could have fun on weekends.
I'll let you know how it goes, maybe even take a lot of pics.
 
Hey #84 NVRA, you better take pictures. Keep a diary of the experience and write a nice 1500 word essay for all of us to read.;) But seriously, enjoy and let us know all about it. Those of us in the middle of the country won't be able to be there. It's a shame, Pearson was one of my favorites.

Ruh Roh, you dated yourself :D

David was one of MY favorites, even tho I grew up in the Northeast.
I had a favorite at Norwood MS in Mass named, of all names, J. Spencer!! BUT he drove a black #8 and that was back in the '50s.
 
You can bet I'll go and shoot several rolls and post a few. Maybe next Monday before I get them on here though. Got a double header this Saturday. Spartanburg in the afternoon , for Ledends Rematch then down to Anderson for NVRA vintage race in the evening. And all this on the last weekend of racing at my local track, hate that I'm going to miss it.
 
We will be there too! I cant wait!! Thanks for starting this thread, we live an hour or so from Spartanburg and never heard a word of it till this appeared. Got the tickets this morning!!
