Starr's future won't include Spears team
From Press Release
November 22, 2005

With the 2005 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series completed, David Starr and Spears Motorsports have amicably agreed to part ways.

"I have enjoyed working with Wayne and Connie Spears and everyone associated with the Spears Motorsports team," says Starr, who finished this season in seventh place in the point standings. "They provided me with an incredible opportunity and I really appreciate everything they have done for me over the past four years.

"Thanks to their support I was able to bring home three victories and earn a number of top finishes. But since all good things must come to an end, we have both agreed that now is the time to go our separate ways.

"I would also like to thank Chevrolet for their help and support. I fully intend to continue my racing career and look forward to seeing everyone next season."

I've heard rumors Carl Long may be the driver next year for that team. (he's been the truck chief for the past few years) Maybe he'll have better luck in trucks, of course he'll be taking a cut in pay, last place in Cup pays more than winning a truck race.

I also heard there were problems between Dave and David and Spears were told it was either David or Dave would walk. If that's true, I think they made the wrong choice. David has proven he's capable of taking it to the front when he has something that'll handle. Unfortunatly those trucks that would handle were far and few between.

I sure something better opens up for David. I consider him a talented driver who should be around for a long time.

According to his board, he was on some radio station this AM. He said he
expects to make an announcement in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
I can hardly wait!!!!! Mentioned that he might be driving in 10 or so CUP races too. The boy has talent. Just hope he gets a realy good ride!!!!!

From what I heard Wayne told him top 5 or better.
And he didn't listen well, they asked him to move to N.C. and he didn't.
Also heard he didn't work well with the team (couldn't relay what the car needed).
