DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - David Starr will leave Daytona as a happy driver as he led the final session in the Jackson Hewitt Preseason Thunder for the competitors in the NASCAR Craftsman Trucks Series.

Starr drove his No. 38a Toyota to a best lap of 185.590 mph. He was followed by Jon Wood's No 20a (185.120 mph) and Bobby Hamilton Jr.'s No. 08a (184.729 mph).

While he was fast, Hamilton Jr. and his crew leave Daytona International Speedway on a sour note as he blew an engine during the last hour of the session. His blown engine spilled oil on the track, which Erin Crocker drove into and spun. The spin caused no damage to Crocker's No. 98 ride.

Mike Wallace (184.570 mph) and Kyle Krisiloff (184.445 mph) rounded out the top five in the session that saw a lower number of cars, 34, than any other truck testing session this week. Many of the teams packed up before mid-afternoon.

In the morning session, Terry Cook's Ford No. 10b led the speed charts with a fast lap of 184.490 mph. Matt Crafton came in second fastest with a lap of 184.215 mph.

Johnny Benson (183.857 mph), Ron Hornaday (183.363 mph) and Mike Wallace (183.251 mph) rounded out the top five during the session.

Now that the Craftsman Truck Series testing has concluded, the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup series will take over the track for the second round of testing during Preseason Thunder.

Fans are welcomed to watch practice at the "World Center of Racing" for free in the grandstands by Daytona USA beginning at 9 a.m.
