OK, here it goes. In 2003, I missed the Daytona 500 because FOX effin 5 decided to run a "Special Report" on the blizzard. It's expected to snow here again on Sunday. Knowing FOX 5 will cut out for BREAKING NEWS, I've instated a war plan and I may need some help.

So, here's the plan: I will not miss the Daytona 500. I've got a tuner set to pick up FOX-43 Baltimore in case FOX 5 Noise is stupid enough to again pre-empt the Daytona 500 for a meaningless special report on some two inches of snow. I also have a program able to pick up FOX in Arizonia, Trackpass is on the ready as is MRN Radio. However, I need some help in case the power may go out. Batteries for my portable TV are $20.

Any suggestions?

Get a hand crank generator

I don't miss NASCAR races.

There were still tickets available. I even saw someone peddling some on here. That is a sure fire way not to miss the race.
Unless you get too snookered and pass out in the stands before the race starts as a few do.

No $$$

Plus, I live in D.C.

You cant really miss a race..that is if you dont have speed, i'm sure they'll re-run it on thursday like they always do.

uh, buy batteries...if you can't afford the 20 dollars, i'm sure there's something better you could be doing on Sunday, like maybe shoveling snow for the 20 dollars. But, then again, its all about priorities.

wow you live in d.c. and you can pick up an arizona station. dang. just leave the thing tuned to the arizona station.

There are "free" internet tv stations out there. I have one where I can watch 3300+- channels world wide. Just have to know where to look.

Holy smokes..........Ive been to 2 of the last 3 at Fontana and am jumping on a plane staight after the 500 for Los Angeles ( taking the MIL back) and was toying with the idea of goin again

I get two different CBS stations where I am, so a little snow either here or there shouldn't totally eliminate my television options. Of course, I do have Trackpass and an mp3 player w/an FM transmitter.
