Daytona International Speedway wants to host Jacksonville Jaguars, Florida/FSU games...

Maybe you aren't the only Jags fan Andy. :D

  • McMurray visits Jacksonville Jaguars practice: #1-Jamie McMurray was blown away by the speed he saw on the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice field on Tuesday. "What surprised me the most is how fast these big guys are," McMurray said. "When you stand next to them and I'm probably a third of their weight, and to see how quickly they explode off the line -- it's incredible how big and strong and fast they are." McMurray was standing next to the players because he and Daytona International Speedway president Joie Chitwood III participated in a few drills during the Jaguars' OTA at the practice fields adjacent to EverBank Field. They fielded kickoffs from the JUGS machine, did a few line drills, and ran routes and caught passes from the quarterbacks, including rookie Blake Bortles. McMurray and Chitwood were at the Jaguars' facility as part of the 56th annual Coke Zero Powered by Coca-Cola Media Day.(ESPN)(6-11-2014)

Awesome that people can go to practices and minicamps. I'm loving the new management in Jacksonville. Caldwell and Bradley are making football fun again.

^ I've been to a couple of Jags games. I've found them enjoyable, even though I'm a loyal Bucs fan.

Would be great to get that much needed exposure for a franchise in transition. Also, Daytona is not as interesting it used to be, but I will say this I would go to Daytona over Gainesville or Tallahassee...

Awful sightlines and one less home game for students to boot. Pass.
FSU and UF will more then likely offer free bussing and slashed, or even free, ticket prices for students. Atleast thats what they do here for our home games that are not in the stadium.

If they're going to make it a big-time neutral site game like the Cowboys Classic and Chick-fil-A Kickoff as I suspect then students will be priced right out of going. UF students already have to pay extra for the Florida-Georgia game in Jacksonville too.

They're copying the idea from Bristol when Tennessee plays Virginia Tech there in 2016.

Daytona is a race track, they even have a road course that Nascar could race on. No stick and ball crap for me, host a race and I will watch
