I thought the go cars are suppose to qual togather and the go home togather? Or did I misunderstand something during the off season.

Did anyone hear them call Jimmy the NEW ICE MAN on speed this morning? Kelloggs ain't going to like that.:D

Jeff Gordon had a fast car, too bad he went out third.

A top ten will suffice though.

What 'bout o' Mikey? Hope it ain't the jet fuel again. Just Kidding. I am proud of them. They have come along way

great day for Michael Waltrip Racing :beerbang:

Last year if you remember corectly i predicted that MW Racing would get a win, well we all know i was eating crow big time on that one. Guess maybe now that he has Paul Andrews as his crew chief he has things more in place, i aslo remember hearing or reading somewhere that he hired some new engineers and shop guys. I hope the best for him, he is definetly one of the best active plate racers. If he can keep out of trouble i think he or Reutiman has ligitimate chance of winning the 500.

Good for Mikey good for the pole winner good for all the guys

Good for Lets have a safe race

Congratulations to Jimmie Johnson, and Michael Waltrip on the front row. Also, Joe Nemechek and David Reutimann. Dave Blaney, Travis Kvapil, and Boris Said also had some good qualifying laps.

I was reading how they set up the duels by owners points and odd and even placement in qualifying. Gee... Jeff gets NO team mates w/him to draft with. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. What I don't understand is, if there's 2 duels, how do they figure the order as far as who finished 1, 2, 3, etc out of the two. My guess is by speed??? I have no idea. Help please? :)

The Daytona 500 pole-sitter will sit on the pole for the first qualifying race and the driver who qualifies on the outside of Row 1 will sit on the pole for the second qualifying race, regardless of where they finished in 2007 owner points. The rest of the qualifying-race fields — up to 66 cars with 33 in each event — will start based on their qualifying-day speeds. Drivers who weren't in the top 35 in owner points in 2007 will be placed in the qualifying races in order of how they qualified among drivers outside the top 35.
The two highest finishers in the 150-mile races that are not in the top 35 in 2007 owner points will qualify for the Daytona 500.

and then they take the finishing order of the 150's, the first 150 sets the odd numbered positions, 150 #2 sets the evens.

Why is that so funny? I'll wager right here that Mikey will win also and that Jeffy will finish out of the top 10.
Are you speaking of Jeff Burton? Because for sure Jeff Gordon will finish in the top 10. :)

Are you talking about the 500 or the dual race?

Because I was reffering to the 500. There are too many good drivers for Mikey to win that race..

Congrats to Mikey and I hate Toyota, I'm in for a tough year!! LOL Duane
