the premature emotional jubilation/frustration of the season opener is over. looking forward to more legitimate racing and discussions. :D

Yep, the big crapshoot is over and everybody is healthy as far as I know. Phoenix is a great track and the cup racing will be good if they found a way to get rid of the aero-push. Dont know for sure what changes they have made for the shorter tracks yet

I saw this on facebook laidback racing.

Caught myself counting points after Daytona. :(

Oh hell, I'm ready!

This time our boy is not falling off the top 10.

It is a great sign that he actually placed top 5 at Daytona. Gordon mentioned in one of his tweets he hasn't finished in the top 5 there in 9 years prior to sunday night. Yikes.

Glad that streak is ended.

I was referring to the fact that 'points don't matter' lol

Phoenix is a great track, but since they re-configured it ,I don't like the way the drivers cut across the backstrech, I don't think they should be allowed to do that. Make it it rule no going below the yellow line or put a damn wall there.

Took me a while to get used to that, they could have done a much better job of designing that part of the track. The variable banking they installed was supposed to create multiple grooves but if they go into turn one on the outside it doesnt work so good. Passing on that track appears to be very difficult other than on that backstretch. The cup cars push the front end real bad there, if their cars arent spot on it isnt pretty. Remember the last chase race there ?? Kenseth looked like he was racing in low gear

I go into plate races expecting that whatever can go wrong for him will go wrong so I don't up too frustrated.

Almost 100% of the time I still end up frustrated.

I feel the same way.

I used to love Talladega, still do but certainly dont enjoy it as much since I know Gordon is pretty much guaranteed a wreck there 8 out of 10 times it seems.

Hopefully he stays out of trouble and actually finishes all 3 remaining plate races in one piece this year.

If Jeff Gordon wins next week we know it is fixed....#3 comes back and gets the pole...Jr wins the 500...then Jeff.

Exactly why I don't like Phoenix.

Wait what

That logic?
