De Matta tests with Toyota

In the August Issue of Racer magazine it mentions that De Matta tested for Toyota back in May! His times were very close to Toyota's F1 driver Allan McNish!

Maybe some of these guys in Cart could handle an F1 ride !!!!
 
I don't doubt that some of the CART guys could handle running in F1 but like you may already know they will probably not be able to do crap unless they can get into a Ferrari, BMW, Mclearn, or maybe even Renult and at a long shot BAR ride.
 
Da Matta and Tora Takagi both tested the Toyota back in May during CART's off time for the Indy 500. Both looked good againt McNish and Salo (Toyota's current drivers).
 
There wouldn't be any reason to move over to F1 unless your in one of the top cars! The others can't even stay on the same lap!
