'Dega race thread

Well, I have already privately asked once to cut out the crap on the Hendrick Motorsports drivers and I guess it went in one eye and out the other and didn't stop in the middle. I usually don't respond to these type of posts, but when the post is quoting something that I have said I don't have much holding me back from responding. Very seldom have I edited a post for it's content or been pushed to put someone in the corner or even to the point of being banned, but this guy is pushing his luck. And, I am a very easy going person!

Okay........off my soap box now. ;)

Give me a break!!!!!! Mears didn't signal he was gonna pit and Tony Raines nudged him up the race track. Explain to me HOW it is ALL Jimmie's fault????? I will ALWAYS call my driver out when they make a boneheaded move, but there was nothing in those two incidents that he can be blamed 100% for.

Now let me properly respond to your post maj. (And hey Z guy i dont need you stepping up for me ok?)

You were right. I should have hold my comments until i knew the details throughly. Anyhow they ran that clip over and over at SPEED Channel and i like how they explained it.

About the wreck with Kyle and the others i really went off because i was pissed from the previous miscue with Mears and all. I also seen that Tony Raines got into Jimmie..hence he getting into Rudd and causing the mini big one for the race.

My perception on Jimmie has been restore. My apologies for jumping the gun on him.

So it's ok if it's Roush, Yates, Childress, Gibbs, and etc?? ;) :D

I know you were just funnin', but I would like to clarify.......No, it isn't. But this person that is being discussed has a serious hate on for any and all things Hendrick and has no problem slinging derogatory names at them. My mama always told me that if I couldn't say something nice about someone, then don't say anything at all. All I want is for the derogatory name-calling to stop. ;)

Anyone throwing things should be arrested. There is no need for that and is just stupid. When you see the way Jeff Gordon won the last to races It makes you wonder. It really takes away from what a great driver he is. When a caution comes out with less than 10 laps to go they should red flag the race and resume with the ammount of laps that was left. Maybe don't count caution laps? I just hate to see races end under caution. Gordon had a great car and a great day and probably would have won anyway but his luck is incredible

He certainly could learn something from his driver, Jeff Burton. But, go back and look at the body of his posts. Most are negative about Hendrick and Jeff in particular. You have to look really hard to find a positive post about anyone except for the couple on Burton. And, his one liners add little to the quality of the board.
Of course, my lengthy discourses probably fall into the same category as to quality...

Next week's race may very well be the last Cup race I go to. If it ends with a bunch of bull-s cautions with 10 to go, and irnoically a Hendrick car wins, I'm done with watching NASCAR. I'm not saying the races are fixed, but there's too much irony in these races in recent years, and too many "Miracles."

I'm gonna miss you when you are gone..........not!
Betsy

Sing it Betsy:

...
When you walk away
I count the steps that you take
Do you see how much I need you right now?

When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
When you're gone
The words I need to hear to always get me through the day
And make it ok

I miss you

I never felt this way before
Everything that I do reminds me of you
...

I wish you people would get off of the Hendrick Motorsports drivers' backs! The ONLY thing that has happened here is being in the right place at the right time. NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS. This dang diatribe is getting VERY old. Hendrick this, Jeff Gordon that, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, ad nauseum is making me sick. I am a fan of of ALL the Hendrick Motorsports drivers, Jeff and Jimmie in particular, but I will be the first person to call them out when they do something wrong. This is getting more rediculous than the junk that is constantly said about Junior.

I for one hope a Jeff does win. Or Jimmie. See if some back up their claims...

Here goes the emotions of this sport. One has to wonder why people can get so worked up over a single race. But when you look at it overall, one race is like a tournament because one driver isn't going up against just one other driver, but 42 other drivers. We all want our favorite to win, but what are the chances of that? Not very good. But when your favorite has been having a good year, or at least a good one within a year or so, you expect your guy to win, or at least be in contention to win each and every race. If he is and something happens to him, you get very frustrated and that's when you can lash out against the other drivers. Forever, people have been saying that NASCAR favors Chevies and in particular, any Chevy that an Earnhardt drives. For that matter, there are those who think that NASCAR just out and out favors Earnhardt and there isn't anything anyone of us can say that will change their minds. Same thing about the Chevies, and now it seems that it's gone one more step, and including the "Kid", Jeff Gordon. For a while now, there will be those who will say that Jeffy passed the man with controversy, but over time, that will die out and Jeff will be remembered as the great driver that he is and has been.

What I'm saying is that seems to happen just about every race. :idunno:

Are you saying Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson have the most amazing luck ever to always be in these positions to benefit?

I'm sorry but I did see that as Jimmie's fault. Mears said he signaled on the backstretch, as drivers normally do. Plus, they're teammates - either Jimmie and Chad knew he was pitting and were trying to cover their butts after Jimmie made a bonehead move, or Jimmie didn't know (in which it wouldn't be his fault), and Knaus either never relayed the message and/or the communication between the two teams is poor in which case Rick Hendrick needs to set down some rules.

I hold an open mind to this, it's definently possible that someone didn't relay messages. It kind of sounded to me like Mears' team was under the impression they were all pitting and Knaus decided not to pit that lap. I do think, at the least, that Chad Knaus knew they were pitting and played ignorant to the TV audience.

Hendrick isn't doing anything wrong - NASCAR is.

They show favoritism and aren't very consistent. Oil on the track means drivers could wreck in it. They waited an awful long time to throw the caution, and it incidently came out when Gordon was leading. Either he got EXTREMELY lucky in two races that he wasn't going to win, or NASCAR timed that caution.

NASCAR plays favorites, just like any other sport. Every sport plays favorites. In MLB, NFL, NBA, etc., the sanctioning body may not play favorites, but the refferees and officials do.

Did'ja happen to watch Inside Nextel Cup last night? They covered this pretty good. If you look behind Jimmie there are 2 cars who are pitting who are already over the yellow. Casey was half to 3/4ths of a lane off the bottom, in the racing groove. We already know that with the seats it is sometimes hard to see a hand wave. As to did Chad know or not know, I know 1 thing for certain, YOU don't know. And, it appears Jimmie didn't know and he's the one that needed that information.
But, I don't even know why anyone tries. You're going to blame Jimmie regardless.

Teammate or not, it's the driver's responsibility to get off the race track safely. Just from watching how fast the whole thing happened, Casey's exit to pit road definitely looked flubbed... granted maybe he was somewhat counting of Jimmy to slow the rest of field to for him, but ultimately responsibility falls on Casey to get off the track.

It WAS communicated to the spotters, and whether they sent the message to the teamates or not is on them.

Speaking of spotters, did anyone see where Jeff's spotter had to be escorted out of the stands? That is horrible.
