What a trip! Jr. wins a mill and no yellows.
This is the 2nd time I have been to dega will all green racing.:thumbsup:
I didn't know if I was going to make it or not on Fri. I was stuck in traffic on I-20 for 1 and 1/2 hours due to a wreck on the Miss. River brigde. I still got to B'ham at 5:30 in time to meet up with the gang from Lake Charles to eat supper. We went next door to the hotel to Joe's Crab Shack. It was good as always. 2 of the group didn't make, but the other 19 did.
Only 7 of us went to the ARCA race on sat. The rest went shopping or rested from the long trip. (Some has went north of Dallas to get away from Lili) The married guys brought the women and kids with them. The traffic in and out on sat. was very light. We got in and out with little stopage.
The first practice was the best. Jr. and some of the others were scolded by the Nascar Officals on the radio for going 4 wide. They were putting on a great show. The ARCA drivers put on a good show compared to the level of the drivers. They ran better at dega than Chicago a few weeks ago.
Sun. we chartered a bus to take up to the track and that was the best $37.50 I spent. It got us in and out of traffic and great parking. I saw "Handsome" Harry Gant , but I didn't have my camera with me at the time. The temp on Sun. was HOT:kaioken: The next race we go to will be a night race. Cheryl Crow gave a mini concert before the race and the group Little Big Town (I think-Never heard of em before). One of the guys is in love with Miss Crow so that made his trip worth while.:lovewow:
I did my best hollering for ya Boo and TRL, and I guess it worked. Jr. had em covered. I will try to get some of my film in this week and post the pics. I got back home around midnight Sun. night and I am taking this week off. Everyone had a great time and are looking forward to doing it again.
