DEI Gets Sponser for the #1 Car

DEI seals 5-year deal on No. 1 car: DEI will run the No. 1 Chevy with Snap- On as the sponsor with John Andretti for several events and road course expert Ron Fellows for Watkins Glen and Sonoma.


Apparently, DEI has sewed up a five-year deal starting in 2005 with Bud Light as the primary sponsor on the No.1 car. No driver has been named, but word is that Dale Earnhardt, Jr. would like to see Martin Truex, Jr. spend another full season in the Busch series before moving to Cup sometime in 2006.

I say we'll See Truex in this car next year :cheers:

Martin IMO is already showing great talent in busch. I think next year we'll see him running in cup and maybe even run a few races this year.
 
I betcha if they hadn't got that Sponsership Deal with Bud Light He would have replaced Mikey. Sure Mikey has a Napa commercial here and there but the results during the race really aren't there.
 
Mikey never was and probably never will be a great driver............good, but just not great! He's as good as about 85% of the Cup drivers in the sport...........I don't think he'll ever get past that either! Might be time for a change to try to recharge himself......who knows! :)

You never know.. Mikey may be in jeopardy... he has talked about taking a more dominant role in team ownership
 
I don't want to see DEI make the same mistake that Hendrick made with Vickers. I'd preferrably like it if Martin stays in Busch for another year or so, they forget about #1 car for the time being, or run it only at the special events like the Daytona 500 or the Pepsi 400 or EA Sports 500. This way, Dale Jr. and Michael can focus on competing for the championship without DEI adding a burden upon the team.
 
Shut down the #1 team. It's been junk ever since Steve had that wreck at Darlington.
Use to money to help Jr and Mikey... it seems like it's working every well right now. Look how good Jr has done so far..

Like they don't have enought money now?
 
If They can keep John Andretti in the #1 Snap-On Chevy then there just might be a successful 3rd team at DEI once again. :D
 
I'm happy to see sponsorship landed for the #1 team.

As much as I'm impressed with Martin, I really hope he stays in Busch for one more year. The experience will give him good seat time. Let him run 7 races next year in Cup, and go full-time in '06.
