Dei hopes to expand to 4 teams next year.
Some interesting stats for DEI this year
Truex Jr..................Lil'E
5..........Top 10s.......5
1.............DNF..........3
1st......Best Finish.....5th
11th....Pts Position....14th

Penske will not expand next year. They will remain at 2 cars and will remain with Dodge at least thru 2008.
If Hornish is ready to come up in 2009 then maybe 3 cars with a Mobil 1 sponsorship.

So DEI has 2 drivers with 4 cars, 3 of which would be out of the top 35 at the beginning of next season. Interesting.

I thought the standings are set by owner's points. In which case the #8 may be in the top 35 at the end of the year.

Dei has 3 drivers right now....Truex, Jr, and Menard, take out Jr. bring in the driver from the Busch car then they are only looking for 1. Most likely a 2 year guy that will get the boot after the 09 season when Jeffrey is 18. Saw Jeffrey Earnhardt at Stafford friday night he was there with his Dad, did well drove a really smart race, very patient for a 16 year old. I'd say with out a doubt he will be in the Busch car next year.

He has to be 18 to race anything for Nascar. Roush tried to put Kyle Busch in a truck before he was 18 and Nascar said NO NO NO!!!

Um he is already racing at 16 they lowered the age this year. he races Busch east for Andy Santerre.

Teresa is the car owner. Not Lil'E. So the owner's points stays at DEI.

Bet ya Junior works some sort of deal to take those points with him.

And I know DEI has 3 drivers right now, I said 2 drivers because Junior is a lame duck right now.

I wonder if the new driver will be required to sport the DEI sideburns?

lame duck...how is he a lame duck? do explain please?

He's already said he is not coming back to DEI next year... he's playing the field... in essence what incentive does Teresa have to give him the best stuff? Dont wanna call out on conspiracy theories but look at where Truex has been running at the end and look at where Jr has been running at the end ever since he made the announcement.

Well i don't think Jr is by any means washed up, if he were there wouldn't be so many teams wanting him. As for him having second rate equipment and being a lame duck, i think the opposite is true.Jr would like to go out as a winner at DEI which gives him more drive to make the Chase.

They lowered the age for the touring series, but not Cup, Truck or Busch. The age restriction on the touring series had more to do with the old sponsors, Winston West & Busch North. That is what happened to Kyle, he was 16 a raced a couple races in the trucks then they had a race with IRL and Marlboro was the race sponsor so he wasn't allowed to race because of his age.

Just in case anyone may have forgotten, Lil'E hasn't signed with another team, yet. He may still be at DEI next year.

Yeah, I know, it's a longshot but I've bet on worse back in the day.

Jeeze! I agree with BP!
